HR Business Partner
Human Resource Business Partners at Groupon aren’t just doing the transactional elements of HR, they’re highly integrated in their designated business group and partner closely with leaders to help shape programs and policies that enable employees to move the business forward. As a young yet evolving company, we’ve built out a robust HR department with dedicated resources for each business unit. However, because we’re only 8 years old, there are still plenty of ways employees can impact, change, or improve how their department works. Our HRBPs are nimble, solutions-driven, and innovative. The ability to build successful relationships between multiple stakeholders and deliver value is critical. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying business needs and working with the regional Centers of Excellence to deliver high quality solutions to internal customers.
We’re looking for an HR professional to be the business partner for our North American business in our Chicago office. Our North American business is an incredibly integral to our success as a company: they’re selling and managing the products our customers and merchants use every day.
Core Responsibilities
Serve as a strategic partner to multiple business and functional leaders, establishing HR business objectives that align with the overall company plans and objectives
Partner with the HR organization in delivering employee milestone processes including performance and compensation planning
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
Coach management on performance management discussions, employee relations issues, discipline matters, and promotion / transfer / termination discussions
Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies
Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
Conduct weekly meetings with respective business units
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
Identify training needs for business units and individual coaching needs
Facilitate training programs for the Chicago office
Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs
Provide compensation and benefits support, teaming with our global compensation team
Collaborate with the various centers of excellence (compensation and benefits, talent development, HRIS) in various HR projects

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field, and minimum 3 years of experience in human resources
Work experience must have included minimum 3-years within the following areas:
Experience in multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, recruiting and performance management
Experience presenting to a large number of employees, and delivering feedback to senior leadership
Demonstrated business acumen and experience implementing HR strategy that supports company objectives
Experience supporting senior business leaders in a global matrixed organization
Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders to deliver an HR solution to the business
Business experience supporting a large, complex, and diverse organization of over 200 employees with multiple locations
Experience working in Human Resources at a technology company preferred
Experience supporting a sales employee population a plus
Experience utilizing Work Day a plus
Knowledge of US employment law
Experience delivering and facilitating training programs
