Benefits Administration Specialist

Connected Benefits, a division of GoHealth, is a group insurance brokerage that offers employee benefits consulting and a seamless benefits administration portal solution. We are a national insurance agency built entirely on the cloud. Our team digitally markets, sells, and services employers and their workforce by providing a full array of insurance products and employee benefits support services coast-to-coast. The benefits administration portal enables brokers to help employers establish employee benefit packages; implement benefits quickly and accurately; allows HR administrators to manage employees and conduct ongoing employee benefits administration; and offers up an “All of your HR, in one place” experience with additional HR features.
Responsibilities:
Supporting the Account Management Team, the Benefits Administration Specialist’s activities will include but are not limited to:
- Providing best in class client service to our Group Insurance Division
- Benefit Administration data entry and system administration (internal and carriers)
- Contacting the client for missing information;
- Following up with the carrier to obtain status updates;
- Processing of all group enrollment forms, change forms and ancillary requests;
- Thorough documentation of all calls/emails, work effort and related problem resolution in the CRM system
- Billing and Enrollment Reconciliation for clients
- Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment handling a large volume of calls, emails, and paperwork without cutting corners while maintaining accuracy and integrity
- Managing a large number of time sensitive client issues at any given time
- Providing top-notch client service to clients via meetings/phone/email/virtual
- Resolving client issues in a timely manner and collaborating with the team to ensure benefit programs run smoothly
- Researching complex employee benefits coverage issues, thinking outside the box to solve problems, and following up promptly with actionable solutions
- Assisting clients with eligibility requests (adds, terms, deletes)
- Reducing frustration by assisting clients with complex insurance company paperwork
- Learning and developing benefit knowledge through carrier meetings, research, and training classes on an ongoing basis
- Ensuring the protection and security of personal, confidential and identifiable information
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree strongly preferred
- 1+ years of experience in Health Insurance industry focusing on Employee Benefits, such as medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage
- Active Health Insurance Producer license in IL considered a strong plus
- Technically savvy with experience on SalesForce or other related CRM tools
- Strong knowledge of SaaS software solutions
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both internally (teammates) and with external contacts (carriers, vendors, clients, etc.)
- Ability to thrive and maintain focus in a fast-paced, technology-based environment
- Flexibility and adaptability (processes may change; you must be able to change with them!)
- Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail
