We are seeking an experienced talent professional for our Head of Talent role who will develop and lead our new Portfolio Talent function.

Qualified candidates will have:

• 8 –12 years of startup or technology company people operations experience and leadership; the most qualified candidates will have experience across other business functions as well
• Demonstrated excellence in both internal and external client success and enablement
• Experience in high-growth, scaling environments
• Existing residency or deep ties to Chicago

Responsibilities will include:

• Best practice development: Design and manage a set of best practices for portfolio company organizational structure, hiring, people management, and development practices.
• Portfolio company enablement: Work with portfolio companies from first investment, through scale and ultimately exit to enable their adoption and execution of best practices in organizational design and people management.
• Talent network expansion: Expand HPVP’s portfolio company talent network through extensive networking efforts and other targeted activities.
• Thought leadership: Use the foundation of work with portfolio companies and HPVP’s talent network to develop outward facing thought leadership in the startup talent arena.
