At Sprout Social, people and culture are at the forefront of everything we do - a fact underscored by our multiple Best Places to Work awards.  As members of the Sprout People team, we are the champions of Sprout’s unique culture. Doing our jobs effectively means every team member has access to the resources they need to be successful from day one, and every business unit has the talent and support needed to meet and exceed their goals. We are looking for a passionate, innovative, and eager learner to help us carry on that tradition.

At Sprout Social, championing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is woven into the fabric of our organization. This value guides how we collaborate, make decisions and engage with the world both inside and outside of our organization. We are proud of the incredible work we’ve done to date and are looking to expand our DEI team with someone who will drive deeper employee engagement with DEI and further our culture of equity and inclusion.

Reporting to the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the DEI Engagement Partner will be responsible for leading our data-driven global DEI engagement strategy, including culture-shaping initiatives and sustainment efforts, enabling our Business Resource Groups (BRGs), and partnering closely with our DEI Leadership Team. You will also collaborate with our Organizational Development and Learning teams to further integrate DEI into our culture, core values and leadership behaviors, and will partner to develop, facilitate and program manage our global DEI learning curriculum, targeted development programs and open forums. In addition, you will lead our DEI communication efforts, working closely with our internal/external Communication team to support regular and transparent communications across our employees, customers and investors.

You’re passionate about driving systemic change and enabling an environment where people from all backgrounds can fulfill their potential. You’ve got an intercultural mindset and a gift for influencing people to get out of their comfort zone in order to build a more equitable community. You’re collaborative in your approach and excel in bringing people together, driving engagement and influencing change. You’re not afraid to challenge the status quo.

  • Finalize your recommendations for key metrics and reporting mechanisms that will be used to measure our success with DEI engagement
  • Meet with all DEI Guild leaders and become familiar with the planning and execution process for this monthly piece of Sprout culture

Within 6 months, you will…

  • Make recommendations on how to improve the DEI engagement initiatives that we currently have in flight and support the DEI Leadership Team members to create updated plans for implementation
  • Understand our existing community work: Community Partnerships, Tech Giving, Global Philanthropy Week, and Sprout Serves Global Volunteer Initiative and partner with our Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to develop our go-forward Social Impact strategy
  • Communicate our DEI engagement strategy and associated progress to the organization through a variety of methods such as quarterly written DEI updates or presenting at company meetings
  • Have your first performance conversation, where you’ll discuss your accomplishments and work together to build goals for your professional growth

Within 12 months and beyond, you will…

  • Provide feedback on our company-wide DEI strategy based on what you’ve been learning about and assessing since joining
  • Be completely at home as a critical member of the People team and company as a whole, with a deep understanding of the team’s needs
  • Play a key role in our DEI annual strategic planning process
  • Represent Sprout and our DEI engagement strategy both internally and externally, continuously pushing us to consider what equity looks like in our day-to-day work
  • Surprise us! Use your unique ideas and abilities to continue to advance our DEI strategy and Sprout in beneficial ways that we haven’t even considered yet

Of course what is outlined above is the ideal timeline, but things may shift based on business needs and other projects and tasks could be added at the discretion of your manager.

How has your career grown since starting at the company?

When I first joined Sprout, I could count the entire Sales team on one hand. Thanks to a workplace environment that fosters growth, I’ve been able to advance my career at Sprout.

Jamie Gilpin
