We are looking for a Human Resources Lead to join the People & Culture team at Toast Payroll located in our Chicago office. You will be a thought partner on all things people and culture and will be responsible for the day-to-day HR operations for teams and leaders on the ground in Chicago, partnering closely with your peers across other Toast offices in the US and Ireland.
The role will report to the VP People Success and will have the opportunity to support in the development and implementation of systems and processes that enhance the employee experience. About this roll*
- Be an ambassador for the Toast culture - helping to ensure a high bar for performance and a trusting, collaborative and fun environment
- Manage HR operations-related processes including compensation planning, benefits, and payroll, and resolve employee questions and concerns on these topics
- Partner closely with Talent Acquisition to attract great talent, and with the business to enable an onboarding process that supports a strong start for new employees
- Provide leadership to resolve employee issues
- Help drive manager effectiveness by partnering with local leadership
- Ensure programs and policies are compliant with local laws and regulations
- Maintain employee records and information in our HRIS
Do you have the right ingredients?
- 4+ years of hands-on human resources experience
- Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including employee relations, payroll, talent development, and employee engagement
- Interest in developing your HR and people-centric acumen. As Toast and the People & Culture team evolves, build your skillset and become an even stronger leader (than you already are).
- Knowledge of local HR policies and employment laws
- Strong communications and change management skills
- Mature judgement and courage to ensure employee effectiveness
- Experience with a wide-variety of HRIS systems and tools
- Desire to operate in a fast-paced organization
