Human Resources Manager
Job Description
The HR Manager reports to the SVP, Human Resources and will partner with Sr. Management and line managers in developing and supporting the corporate strategies, focusing on recognition and reward, recruiting, performance management, organization effectiveness, compliance, benefits, employee relations and disciplinary matters. The HR Manager ensures effective delivery of HR core processes and compliance with relevant company guidelines, employment laws, regulations, policies and practices.
Responsibilities
- Business Partnering - Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Human Resources function for GoHealth. Provide guidance consultation, and interpretation to management and employees regarding conflict resolution, career development, labor laws, policies and procedures, and other employee relation issues
- People Management - Responsible for the day-to-day management of HR Generalists and HR Administrators as assigned, including: workload, training, mentoring, performance management reviews, and providing senior level coverage for the SVP as needed
- Recruitment and Onboarding - Assist business unit leaders in the resource planning, sourcing, interview and offer process; Onboarding of all new/transferred employees, and Partnering with Resourcing Team to achieve maximum results and business requirements
- Performance Management - Manage business partner engagement and execution of reward and performance cycle programs and incentives, Lead business Performance Management (SMART objectives, Performance Review, Appraisal Review, and Training Needs) processes ensuring alignment with business/individual results
- Benefits - Administer employee benefits programs and ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ensure compliance with provisions of Employee Retirement Income Security Act. Review and analyze changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits, and report necessary or suggested changes to management. Conduct employee meetings and employee benefit seminars, as needed. Advise and counsel management and employees on existing benefits. Handle benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution. Maintain contact in person, and by phone or mail, with carriers/brokers and employees to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits to all employees.
- Talent Management - Build Organizational Development, Succession Planning, Talent Management strategies to meet business needs and execute against them.
- Participate in benefits administration, change reporting, COBRA admin., reconciling and approving invoices, and Oracle updates.
- Process all Personnel Action Forms due to merit increases, promotions, bonuses, pay adjustments, etc. Ensure that all necessary documents are received, information is entered in to HRMS database, and forwarded to appropriate department(s).
- Interface with Payroll to ensure accuracy of employee information, including employee deductions and contributions, other, etc.
- Process all new hires/employees in ADP; ensures I-9 compliance, keep track of I-9s with expiration dates and requests updated documentation from the employee; ensure all necessary documents are received and sent to Payroll.
- Manage maintenance of human resources records including personnel files, enrollment, application, and claims records for all benefits plans.
- Assist in maintaining accurate job descriptions.
- Conduct exit interviews and share trends with HR leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources is desired, or comparable combination of education and experience; HR certification (PHR / SPHR ) a plus
- 5-7+ years previous human resources experience, with demonstrated competencies in organizational development, legal compliance, and proactive problem solving
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines and taking accountability for results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to clearly communicate information and ideas with excellent listening skills
- Knowledge of employment laws; Ability to develop and administer policies to maintain compliance with applicable laws
- Ability to interact with people in a manner that displays tact, professionalism and sensitivity
- Proven ability to prioritize and work independently, as well as part of a team
- Software skills desired – MS Office suite, Outlook, ADP
