Position Overview
The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for training our internal and external audiences. Learning and Development Specialists also assist in creating and improving content while partnering with the audience in question. This position must conduct themselves in a professional and confident manner in front of a group. Learning and Development Specialists are also responsible for keeping their product and learning-method knowledge up-to-date.

Primary Responsibilities 
• Delivers training and instruction in accordance with unique training needs with the ability to change/enhance the training experience to meet the desired outcome of the clients
• Inform clients about Paylocity solutions and how best to utilize them to enhance their unique needs
• Assess learning styles and collaborate with other L&D Specialists, Resource Specialists and Instructional Designers to ensure course curriculum, materials, modality and resources are aligned 
• Participate in cross-functional team to assess the opportunity areas within each product to better meet client needs and then amend training programs to align with goals while informing key stakeholders
• Lead special projects (i.e. course redesigns) in partnership with other subject matter experts to drive learning adoption
• Serve as product champions to identify knowledge gaps and bridge gaps through course amendments and interactive exercises as well as serve as a key interaction point with technology team to keep the product owners up to date on the ever changing needs of our client audience
• Proactively identify required course enhancements and changes to meet the evolving needs of the business and then make the required changes in a timely manner. Gather client feedback and share insights with product experts.
• Independently learn new courses (for certification purposes) to drive personal expertise and develop the expertise of others 
• Communicate product changes that impact the learning through the L&D collaboration tool to ensure that all team members are informed
• Leverage non training time to develop learning strategies and determine future course needs and enhancements
• Create materials that can be leveraged by Sales solutions consultants and representatives to assist in securing new business opportunities throughout the sales process
• Takes on a variety of stretch assignments
• Lead training sessions at our annual Client Conference
• Travel 30-40% of the time is required
• Additional duties as assigned

Experience and Skills:

Education and Experience
• Prior training experience of 3 to 5 years 
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Psychology, Education or other relevant discipline area
• Mastery of Level I Leadership & Development Specialist qualifications
• Knowledge of training and development practices and methods including needs assessment and instruction design for instructor led, virtual, online, and blended training.
• Knowledge of learning theories and principles including adult learning theory.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail, analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite – Word, Power Point, Excel
• Prior payroll experience preferred
• Experience with blended learning approach and eLearning resources preferred
