We are adding to our Talent Operations team and looking for a Manager, Benefits to join us in our mission. In this new role, you will partner with our Talent leader and the benefits consultants to provide management and facilitation of VillageMD’s benefits and rewards strategy. Along with the Talent leader, you’ll be trusted work with business leaders and staff to educate them on our benefits programs and ensure they are engaging and retaining employees in alignment with the company’s business goals.

Some examples of work you will drive as a Manager, Benefits at VillageMD:

  • Manages and coordinates the implementation and administration of employee benefit programs including health coverage, ancillary coverage, and wellness programs
  • Oversees benefit enrollment process, including new hire enrollment and annual open enrollment meetings to ensure employees receive accurate information and enrollments are completed on a timely basis
  • Monitors and evaluates services, coverage, and options available through insurance and investment companies to recommend programs best meeting needs of the enterprise
  • Analyzes eligibility, participation and utilization for all benefits on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis; analyzes benefits experience for cost-control and risk-assessment factors; uses data to monitor trends and recommend educational initiatives, benefit plan changes, vendor changes, etc.
  • Manages and coordinates benefit contract process with benefit plan providers, vendors, auditors, and consultants for services, premiums, and plan administration; recommends benefit plan changes to Talent leadership
  • Serves as VMD contact with third party vendors providing benefits to employees
  • Maintains employee benefits data in ADP
  • Leads and executes the development and ongoing maintenance of internal and external benefits communication materials
  • Ensures all plans and associated activities are compliant with applicable federal, state and local laws
  • Ensures necessary plan documents are in place and government-mandated disclosures, e.g. summary plan documents, are timely and correctly distributed to eligible employees
  • Researches and responds to complex questions from employees and leaders regarding interpretation of benefits plans, including eligibility, covered services and exclusions
  • Research and execution of the development of a comprehensive wellness strategy that incorporates a wide range of tools, resources, and support resources for employees to utilize in order to care for their holistic self
  • Research new strategies for a self-funded organization and network to understand best practices in the industry
  • Ensures all plan documents and Summary Plan Descriptions are complete and updated, 5500 Filings are filed accurately and in a timely manner, and oversees annual plan audits
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant government regulations including COBRA, ERISA, PPACA, PBGC, FMLA, Disability and HIPAA

What you bring to VillageMD:

  • 6 years of broad-based benefit program design, implementation, and administration
  • Demonstrated experience with self-funded plan design, implementation, and on-going review
  • Knowledge of all health and welfare benefits and associated processes and procedures and working knowledge of federal and/or state regulations affecting the administration of broad-based benefit and retirement plans (COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, etc.)
  • Experience with vendor and relationship management
  • Excitement and passion for healthcare and being part of a close-knit, entrepreneurial team
  • Extreme flexibility and the desire to be a contributor to an energetic and passionate talent team
  • A reputation for discretion, integrity, judgement, responsiveness, strong attention to detail and common sense
  • Ability to travel occasionally to support needs across our markets
  • Bachelor’s degree required
