About The Role
The People Operations Generalist is a key member of the People team and is involved in benefits administration, compensation planning and management, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. This role will work very closely with the VP, People to ensure that the team is developing and promoting people operations strategies for the organization.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Payroll: accurate, timely and efficient processing of semi-monthly payroll, commissions, expense reimbursements, and other related compensation expenses
- Compensation: compensation benchmarking and analysis, salary change paperwork, bonus calibrations, and commission plan administration
- Benefits: plan administrator and employee point of contact for Yello’s benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), commuter benefits, HSA, and education fund. Manage the leave of absence processes, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, and disability
- Employee Relations: investigations, creating/delivering performance plans, process terminations
- Compliance: ensure legal compliance with benefits (COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, etc) and other (EEOC, FCRA, applicable state and local laws, etc.) Own updates to Yello’s Employee Handbook.
- Employee Records: manage all employee information in our HRIS (Namely), including new hire paperwork, status changes, and terminations, and maintain the integrity and accuracy of employee data and files to ensure compliance
- Collaborate on team projects, including larger scale initiatives such as performance management, professional development, affirmative action plan, and policy reviews and revisions
- Assist with ad hoc projects as needed
What We're Looking For
- Experience administering payroll required
- PHR certification a plus
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required
- 5+ years of HR-focused experience
- Experience administering an HRIS strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of employment law, EEOC, etc.
- Strong working knowledge of benefits administration and compliance (COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA)
- Experience working with highly confidential information/proven discretion
- Excellent communication - ability to work with many different personality types and explain technical details in a digestible manner
- Customer service centered attitude
- Combines meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
