What you’ll do:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to meet the human resources demands of our workers who we affectionately call Moonrisers. We need someone who is friendly and patient with good judgment and is able to calmly provide support and solve problems. Our workers come from all walks of life so compassion, common sense, and a professional demeanor are crucial to this role. Eventually this role will help support the strategy to expand into other markets.
Your typical day will consist of:
Maintain and update all HR databases and proactively seek out more effective methods of gathering and retaining information
Be an advocate for Moonrisers; listening to their problems and working with them to craft solutions
Process core team payroll and everything associated with it
Process all garnishments, unemployment, and child support requests
Be available to answer Moonrisers’ human resources questions
Support a smooth Moonriser onboarding process including all HR documents and certifications
Maintain a consistent Moonriser offboarding process
Update and distribute Moonriser Employee Handbooks and Policy documents
Verify job class and other codes are correct
Support Workmans’ Compensation procedures
Ensure team is informed of risks, issues, challenges and solutions related to HR
Support recruitment team as needed with HRIS system
Identify areas to improve HR processes and communications for Moonrisers and core team; proactively seek out solutions to tactical HR problems
Stay relevant on HR best practices and legal compliance

Qualifications/Preferences
2+ years of experience in an HR generalist role or 5 years experience managing hourly staff
Prior experience at a startup or working within the gig economy
Experience with Slack, Google Suite, and CRM platforms
Circus-like ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously with high attention to detail
Exceptional organization, time-management, and follow-up skills
Experience with cross team communications, including working with the software team to develop tools and fix problems
