Job Summary
CNA’s Actuarial Summer Internship Program is looking to create a team of interns for a dynamic 10 week training program that provides hands on Actuarial experience and unique opportunities in the Insurance industry. This program gives each intern their own manager and practical Actuarial assignments to gain real-world experience. All intern projects and managers are selected by a committee to ensure that all interns receive meaningful and challenging actuarial work.
Interns can be placed in one of the following areas within the Actuarial department: Commercial & Specialty Pricing, Reserving, Life & Health, Claim Analytics or Enterprise Risk Management.
Program Features and Benefits:
- Learning sessions with senior staff covering various topics related to the insurance industry Professional and personal development activities including public speaking and preparing a presentation
- Specialized training sessions and activities for actuarial interns
- Higher hourly rates are available to students who have passed one or more exams
- Consideration for potential Full Time placement upon graduation
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Must be a sophomore or junior pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics or any other related degree
- GPA of 3.25/4.0 required but a GPA of a 3.5 or higher is strongly preferred
- Interest in the Insurance Industry
- Interest in pursuing an Actuarial career upon graduation
- Must have thorough understanding of the Actuarial exam process
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, and the ability to cultivate and maintain positive business relationships
- Strong organization and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective problem solving, analytical aptitude, learn quickly and embrace change
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
