Job Description
Our Co-op students assist Coverage Engineers in all aspects of their work. We start out with the basics with small project assignments. We gradually give you larger projects with more responsibilities. Our goal for our student program is to develop excellent candidates for full time engineering positions upon graduation.
Here is a description of the responsibilities of a Coverage Engineer Co-Op where we will strive to develop your capabilities.
The Co-Op Coverage Engineer will assist the team in the design of radio communication solutions from the conceptual phases through to implementation that meet customer's requirements. They will consult with the local coverage engineer and engineering field team to understand the customer’s requirements and work together to design the best solution to meet the customers needs. This involves designing radio coverage solutions with the appropriate location of antenna sites to minimize site counts, evaluating voice and data traffic capacity, performing frequency planning and licensing studies to help ensure the coverage solution is licensable and minimize harmful interference to current existing nearby systems.
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
High School Diploma
One to Two years of college level courses towards the obtainment of a B.S. degree in Wireless, Electrical, System or Computer Engineering or Computer Science
Excellent communications skills and the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences
Self-motivated and able to maintain focus in a pressured environment
Experience working with customers is desirable
Experience/ Knowledge in radio systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless, broadband, microwave is desirable.
Basic Requirements
Must be pursuing a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Wireless, Electrical, System or Computer Engineering or Computer Science
Graduation date must be on or after Dec 2021
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
