Intern - Compliance Analytics

OCC is looking for interns who are hungry for the chance to learn more, humble enough to admit they don’t know all the answers, and smart enough to recognize the opportunity. As an intern, you will help lead projects that help shape the future of OCC. Here’s what we’re looking for:
Projects and Responsibilities:
- Support buildout of enterprise Compliance monitoring program, which involves working with business stakeholders to define potential metrics for measuring regulatory risk, connecting to disparate data sources within the organization (e.g., Encore, ServiceNow, Jira, Splunk, Archer, etc.), and developing automated analytics solutions to support monitoring team’s ongoing surveillance efforts.
- Assist with development of enhanced, automated reporting to support OCC’s ability to carry out its compliance obligations and deliver insightful reporting to internal stakeholders, department leadership, management committee, the Board, and regulators.
- Help buildout self-service analytics capabilities to support the data needs of teams within Compliance and governance teams throughout OCC. Support the department in clearing the path on implementation of analytics best practices within the company for other departments to model.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Technical, hands-on experience in one or more of these technologies: Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python, R
- Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, both orally and in writing
- Highly inquisitive nature, ability to think creatively and propose solutions
- Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving priorities
What knowledge and skills will the intern gain from this internship?
- New and/or enhanced technical proficiency in Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python
- Experience working with diverse and modern data technologies, including various on-prem databases, APIs, Github, and potentially cloud platforms such as AWS
- Experience in helping buildout a best-in-class, enterprise Compliance monitoring program, including working to buildout the required analytics infrastructure at OCC—a truly unique opportunity to join at the early stages of the company’s analytics evolution and contribute to how it’s defined and comes together
- Ability to work collaboratively with team of 5 talented analytics professionals with approximately 35 years of combined experience in financial services analytics.
