Mid Market Sales Operations Intern
The Group: Morningstar’s Business Development & Sales group is responsible for helping our advisor and institutional clients build their businesses and provide better outcomes for investors. The group is structured primarily along the following client segments: advisors, asset management, institutional consultants, academics, pensions and hedge funds.
The Role: Our Client Account Executives are responsible for both retaining and growing a book of current Morningstar clients. Being able to support our potential growth requires managing client renewals, payments, and internal operations. An intern can help these sellers manage a multimillion dollar book of business by ensuring client payments are timely and our internal systems are lined up for renewals. This position is based in our Chicago office and will require approximately 40 hrs/wk during school breaks and approximately 15-20 hours during the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
Billing and Salesforce Audits: Contacting clients for payment, updating our billing systems throughout the subscription term, ensuring Salesforce is accurate for subscription renewals.
Book of Business (BOB) Analysis: Using data available in Salesforce, Tableau, Discovery, etc., curate lists of upsell leads by segment, specifically underserved markets (i.e. investment consultants, individual companies, etc.) and upsell type (i.e. non-users at firms with subscriptions).
Territory Plan Analysis: This will include aggregating analysis teams to determine common initiatives and opportunities for additional growth.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking undergraduate program, preferably going into senior or junior year.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and creative thinking skills
Experience with Excel
Ideally (but not required), a basic understanding of finance, specifically the financial professional space
Nice to have
Experience with Salesforce
