The Product Design Intern will assist in the ongoing design of features, and applications for the project44 product suite and provide functional support for the company’s user research program. The ideal candidate will be comfortable designing digital products and should have a passion for web usability and interaction design. We're looking for someone who wants to continue their design education in a collaborative hands-on environment, working directly with usability researchers and product designers.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support designers by completing concepts, screen mockups, and clickable prototypes of design solutions.
  • Create assets, such as icons and images, for new features and branding efforts.
  • Support product management and design with discovery, validation and usability research activities.
  • Assist with the ongoing organization of research efforts and the customer-participant community.

Qualifications

This is a great opportunity for a novice perusing a career in UX research and user-centric design. The successful candidate will have 1+ years of related research and design experience, knowledge of interaction design and the ability to successfully communicate with customers to schedule and execute research efforts. We’re looking for quick learners, who have experience with design software (especially Sketch, InVision, and Axure), an understanding of front-end technologies, and passion for usability and web design best practices. 

Benefits

This role will be a paid internship ($15/hr) and will be approximately 30-40 hours a week on-site. This internship can also be considered a mentorship, with the intern working closely with the Product Experience team to develop, refine and expand on the intern’s creative and analytical abilities. Interns will leave this role with an understanding of what it takes to be successful in a startup and will be able to articulate the value of human-centric design thinking in this environment.
