What will you be doing?
The Compliance and Claims Specialist will work in MoLo’s Compliance Department and report directly to the Compliance and Claims Counsel. The Compliance and Claims Specialist’s primary responsibilities will include onboarding new carriers into MoLo’s network, continually vetting existing carriers, and investigating and resolving cargo claims. The candidate will be professional, highly analytical, and familiar with the federal rules and regulations governing the transportation industry.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Reviewing carrier packets and approving for onboarding per MoLo’s carrier compliance standards
- Evaluate and approve carrier to run loads
- Communicate internally with reps regarding carrier requirements/deficiencies
- Audit loads for suspicious activity
- Monitor FreightGuard and Watchdog reports
- Collect information on all claims incidents including wrecks, damage to trucks / trailers, cargo damage and property damage
- Analyze data to determine claim's validity
- Notify involved parties of claim filings and/or rejected claims
- Determine next steps and order inspections in order to support the claim with the customer or carrier in an effort for resolution. Evaluate independent reports, including video, written incident reports, valuation estimates, etc. in claim resolution
- Enter and track claims in TMS system
- Negotiate and determine timely settlements and claim resolutions, process payment requests and final case paperwork following discussion of valid claims with customers, carriers, and appropriate personnel.
- Escalate and coordinate with the Claims Counsel and external adjusters as needed

Requirements
- One year of freight and/or insurance claims experience preferred
- Ability to learn, understand and apply knowledge of DOT and other federal regulations applicable to the transportation industry.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary to prepare reports and to interpret and communicate complex material, statistical data, and results to management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities as well as flexibility to adapt to change with new systems and methods while working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and results driven environment
- Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
