About the role:

We’re a high-growth tech company looking for corporate counsel to work with our retail partners and vendors to negotiate commercial contract terms. You’ll be in the thick of the action in a fast-paced environment, joining calls and meetings with our partners and vendors, and working closely with our general counsel and business teams. This is a critical position supporting ShopRunner’s growth with your legal and business expertise, and we’re looking for somebody who can provide law-firm quality work within a high growth, dynamic environment. We are open to full time employees, those considering part-time roles (30 hrs/week), or independent consultant structures for the role. We are able to hire for this role in any of the following states: DE, PA, CA, IL, FL, IN, NJ, NY, TX, UT, VA

What you’ll do: 

• Draft complex retail partner agreements 
• Negotiate terms of various commercial and vendor contractors
• Clearly and proactively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
• Stay up-to-date on relevant regulations within our industry, including privacy and payments
• Quickly develop a deep understanding of our products
• Help to refine our processes, contract management, and standard contract forms

About you:

• Minimum 3 years of commercial/contract legal experience 
• You have hustle -- you’re responsive and communicative
• Growth mindset -- you’re  excited to be a legal function within a tech start-up atmosphere
• You’re experienced working as the point of contact with clients, and enjoy working with both internal and external partners 
• You’re business minded -- comfortable navigating gray areas, and working with ambiguous requirements to meet the company’s needs
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate legalese and technical talk for the layperson
• Attention to detail (of course!) and a project management mindset
• JD, bar certified
