What You'll Bring
Juris Doctorate (JD) degree with 5 to 10+ years of experience as an attorney advising business partners on complex documents, including laws, contracts, company policies and procedures
The ability to build relationships with peers and leadership on all levels of the organization through excellent interpersonal skills
Experience advising stakeholders on key issues such as changes in the law, implications of complex regulations, or strategic legal issues impacting the company’s strategic operations
Outstanding organizational, analytical, and critical-thinking skills (logic, problem solving, issue spotting, and decision making)
Strong work ethic with the demonstrated ability to manage and turn around a significant and diverse work flow in an effective and timely manner
Demonstrated success advising stakeholders on complex regulatory issues
The ability to navigate and apply complex regulations to current or future products, technologies or solutions
Excellent drafting and negotiation skill with prior experience interpreting, negotiating, and drafting complex contracts and related documents
We’d Love to See:
Experience working with big data, healthcare solutions, software solutions and counseling product development organizations
Experience working with clients in regulated industries such as healthcare or financial services is a plus
Knowledge and understanding of the following areas of law are helpful: privacy, FCRA, GLBA, DPPA, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, intellectual property licensing, and technology
An interest in learning about emerging technologies, designing solutions to complex problems and a curiosity to explore new ideas
Demonstrated leadership on cross-functional teams and the ability to distill complex information into actionable business recommendations and deliver clear messages to management stakeholders
Desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, solution oriented team environment
Impact You'll Make
Key contributions will include:
Advising on privacy and data protection issues for healthcare division products, regulatory issues, and contractual issues
Closely collaborate with the company’s information security, privacy and data programs
Negotiate healthcare business unit customer contracts and work closely with sales to solve customer challenges through the use and adoption of TU Healthcare solutions
Provide legal and regulatory guidance to product management teams on issues related to new and existing products/features throughout the entire product development lifecycle from conception to product launch.
Provide expert counsel on issues related to healthcare privacy and data protection as it relates to TransUnion Healthcare’s products and services
Review and negotiate agreements affecting TransUnion Healthcare’s products and services, including with business partners, service providers, and customers.
Assist with acquisition and integration of products, content, services, and technologies, into healthcare products.
Provide counseling and training on issues related to healthcare regulatory and contracting matters.
Assist with the drafting of terms of use, policies, disclosures and privacy notices and implement related processes and procedures.
Coordinate with and support other members of the legal and compliance Privacy and Product Legal Team on other matters.
Partner with other TransUnion attorneys to ensure consistency with internal commercial and corporate policies, and processes.
Partner with members of the legal department, information security team and compliance to help implement and advise on compliance with laws, regulations, and contracts.
