What You'll Do
The Associate Principal Corporate Communications will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Company’s internal communications strategy. This role will collaborate across the business to develop, create and execute communications that align with corporate goals, engage colleagues and advance business outcomes. The AP will play an instrumental role in developing and implementing strategies and tools to enhance effectiveness of communications across a variety of channels using traditional and digital channels
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.
- Create, implement and enhance communications strategies to engage and inform colleagues around the company’s mission, values, activities and change initiatives through a mix of channels and tactics
- Write, produce and disseminate communications including, internal emails and presentations, , videos, scripts, FAQs, and print collateral in support of communication plans
- Develop strong working relationships with business units to craft meaningful, understandable communications that resonate with their audiences
- Ensure that internal communications reflect the voice, tone and culture of the organization and help apply related internal communications standards and policies
- Develop, track and analyze metrics on employee communications; tabulate results, develop an executive summary and provide insights on opportunities for improvements
- Research and implement innovative communication tools
- Manage content development for company Intranet, including writing and posting content and generating new content ideas to support company initiatives
- Help manage the logistics and planning elements of company events such as Town Halls, Leadership Lunches and other forums; support content development and executive messaging for these events
- Collaborate with Corporate Communications peers, Human Resources and other internal groups and outside vendors to ensure message integration and consistency
- Develop and actively manage a corporate communications editorial calendar to support companywide initiatives
- Work directly with outside vendors, such as printers, to obtain quotes and produce materials
- Assist with other communications-related work as needed and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Experience working collaboratively on communications initiatives from conception to execution to evaluation, agency experience is a plus
- Strong writing, editing and copy writing skills to AP Style; previous writing/editing experience in corporate communications, PR or journalism fields required
- Must be highly detailed-oriented and a self-starter, with the ability to check facts and figures for accuracy, as well as manage the timeliness of approvals
- Exceptional storytelling skills and creativity
- Ability to carry a significant writing and project workload
- Proven written and oral communications skills, including the ability to convey complex subject matter in an understandable and interesting style
- Strong project management skills, including establishing performance metrics and milestones; planning, organizing and facilitating meetings; and working within established deadlines
- Polished interpersonal and persuasive skills needed, especially the ability to develop relationships both internally and externally
- Track record of effectively partnering with business areas to support initiatives
Technical Skills:
- Highly developed MS Office Suite skills, especially Word and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in SharePoint and Poppulo are a plus
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English or related field
Three to five years of experience or more in developing and executing corporate and/or internal communications
