About the Team:
The Marketing function will reinvigorate the Illinois Lottery brand through innovative insight-led programs such as enhanced games, effective social messaging and original advertising campaigns.
Position Overview:
Within Camelot Illinois, the Consumer Marketing Insight Specialist is responsible for supporting the Consumer Insight Manager to deliver comprehensive consumer insight that inform commercial, category and brand strategies which help enable the delivery of commercial objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of holistic category consumer insights through commercial insight and macro consumer, shopper, market, customer and competitor knowledge.
- Influence the product portfolio, new product development, category and brand strategies and enable delivery of the commercial objectives.
- Proactively monitor macro consumer and market insight to identify potential issues and commercial opportunities.
- Manage and deliver robust consumer research to support the brands, category, existing game enhancement and development, advertising and marketing campaigns impact in the market.
- Proactively monitor continuous player and category sales trends to highlight potential risks or opportunities.
- Support the establishment of consumer tracking needs for the category team and ensure that tracking data continuously delivers relevant measures in line with their objectives and priorities.
- Support the Consumer Insight Manager to develop player segmentation.
- Provide the consumer research and tracking to category and channel teams.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external research agency providers.
Requirements
Required:
- 2 plus years of marketing insights experience.
- Demonstrable experience of managing consumer research projects and driving consumer centric insights to influence brand and category strategies within industry and across multiple products.
- Previous experience with both qualitative and quantitative consumer research.
- Proven experience of taking information from multiple sources (sales, consumer, customer and macro trends) to formulate clear actionable insights which deliver business value.
Preferred:
- Practical experience and strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies including tracking research and consumer panels.
- Ideally experience within a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) environment.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and proven experience of incorporating financial awareness and business implications into the strategic recommendations derived from holistic insight.
- Project management skills and proven experience in managing research projects from brief to insight delivery.
- Experience working within the Microsoft Suites and/or Google Suite technologies.
