Content Marketing Manager
About You
FourKites is seeking a Content Marketing Manager to help us create and build FourKites' content. In your role as Content Marketing Manager, you will drive content initiatives that build awareness of FourKites’s brand and drive revenue for our business. Your role is critical in defining and creating our content marketing plans, and you will optimize original content to influence thought leadership and demand across all channels. You’ll also provide education and guidance on writing best practices for all FourKites content. This role will be in our Chciago, IL office.
Responsibilities:
Content Strategy & Planning
- Work with Product Marketing, Field Marketing, Demand Generation, Operations, and Sales to build content strategies to support awareness, demand creation, and sales enablement initiatives
- Develop and maintain editorial calendars, content production plans, and update cadences
- Own content for the entire content lifecycle, including ideation, production process, updating, auditing, and retirement
- Manage social media calendar and postings
- Work with Marketing operations to measure and report on content effectiveness
- Direct agency and contractor work to produce quality content
Writing & content best practices
- Craft interesting, original, well-researched pieces to drive traffic to FourKites’s web site with the goal of engaging and converting the right prospects; including but not limited to blog posts, social media postings, articles, web copy; emails; and other content as needed
- Update web content using a web content management system (WordPress) in a way that optimizes SEO, working with Digital Marketing
- Manage the production of product and solution marketing materials, including case studies, sales enablement materials, product launch collateral, and content for trade shows and conferences
- Act as editor and reviewer for all internal and external-facing materials for message and brand consistency, style guidelines, and voice
- Work with third parties, such as partners, influencers, and analysts, in joint content programs
- Lead research initiatives to provide unique insights and analysis to drive thought leadership and content for demand creation and awareness
- Optimize effectiveness of content by implementing best practices and testing strategies
- Keep up to date with current industry trends and topics to ensure content is relevant and engaging
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years’ experience in marketing communications or writing-focused roles
- Excellent written skills for long form, short form, and web content
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience writing for enterprise software companies a plus
- Experience with Web content management systems, HTML, marketing automation, and content production or marketing product management tools and systems a plus
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
- Curiosity, willingness to learn, and a ‘get it done’ attitude
