Summary of Responsibilities:

This role will support the fast paced strategic growth of Home Chef’s retail business via its marketing efforts. As a Customer Marketing Manager you will coordinate and execute the go to market strategy, customer messaging and activation tactics for both Home Chef retail and subscription verticals within Kroger. This role will require a high level of collaboration working cross functionally with teams both internally at Home Chef and with our partners at Kroger’s general office in Cincinnati, Kroger divisions (including Mariano’s & Harris Teeter) as well as Kroger’s data partner, 84.51.

Manage the development and execution of Home Chef’s retail marketing plans

  • Manage Home Chef’s retail marketing calendar to ensure in store and customer communication tactics are correctly planned 
  • Develop internal creative briefs by period to ensure messaging and approach is consistent across tactic 
  • Own timelines and work cross functionally with key stakeholders to meet tactic deadlines
  • Communicate retail marketing execution plans with broader retail team 

Analyze and track the performance of retail marketing executions

  • Analyze performance of customer marketing efforts, develop and report out key insights on routine basis
  • Recommend program improvements based on key insights
  • Report promotional spend to ensure P&L spend tracking
  • Track KPIs for each executed marketing tactic by period
  • Establish a feedback loop for insights with the Home Chef retail marketing team, allowing for continued marketing optimization
  • Manage the relationships with reporting key contacts at Home Chef, Kroger or 84.51

In depth analysis of the Home Chef retail shopper

  • Use 84.51 SHOP, Home Chef database, and other data insight platforms to develop an ongoing review of the Home Chef shopper at Kroger 
  • Define, coordinate, execute cadence of reporting tools to use 
  • Explore better ways to target, acquire, reward the Home Chef shopper

  • Individuals who are motivated, hungry to learn, data-driven and eager to get a valuable hands-on experience will be rewarded with opportunities to grow within this role.
  • 3+ years of experience in a rigorous fast-paced work environment – CPG, manufacturing, data analytics consulting, finance, etc.
  • Professional communication and relationship building skills
  • Previous experience with Kroger or other grocery retailer preferred
  • Previous experience with fresh/perishable products preferred
  • Previous marketing experience preferred
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize work
  • Exceptional Excel/Google Sheets analytics with an innate feel for numbers
  • Independent self-starter, driven to find solutions without significant oversight
  • Intellectually curious, with a strong interest in the food, e-commerce and start-up space
  • Results driven active problem solver with a natural desire to get things done
  • Completion of a four-year degree program in a related field
