Job Description
The Director of Solution Intelligence reports into VP, Measurement & Activation for the EPCM line of business. The Measurement & Activation team serves as a Trusted Advisor and subject matter expert in helping brands achieve desired outcomes from their Epsilon PeopleCloud Messaging (EPCM) solution with quantifiable results. The team leads the overall strategic activation and application of the EPCM product and services offerings, partnering internally to design performance-first solutions for both clients and prospects.
The Director strives to increase client perceived value from EPCM through enabling more automated, intelligent and higher impact results, leveraging greater efficiencies with reduced complexity. The candidate closely partners with the EPCM Product team to ensure that solution features translate into practical benefits that clients view as valuable with overtly measurable KPIs. The candidate will work closely with the VP to set high level objectives for the business and ensure EPCM functionality is able to deliver on those objectives in a direct, easy-to-use and programmatic way with predictive intelligence at the core. The candidate understands marketer goals and is expert at tailoring business desires into channel measurement & technical requirements; the candidate will partner with the client services teams to amplify new solution feature functionality in a narrative that increases platform usability within a strategic framework for repeatable scale. Informing the product roadmap is central to the role.
The Director will need to exude exceptional presentation skills both internally and externally to our clients on EPCM. The successful candidate can articulate solution value being delivered to the client, increasing Epsilon trusted advisor credibility, and advancing cross-sell / up-sell opportunities.
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have superior ability to solve challenging client problems through data-centric & analytics-based business applications design. The Director will guide a vision through execution, analyzing and optimizing outcomes for Epsilon staff and end clients. Knowledge and understanding of email, SMS and Push messaging in a media landscape, data (zero, first, third-party and demographics) as well as sophisticated audience targeting test & learn strategies across channels, is a must.
The Measurement & Activation team is an important and growing practice within the EPCM business. The Director of Solution Intelligence will continually strive toward the Epsilon mandate of delivering 'proof, not promises' with everything we do.
3 Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Business Strategy powering Product Execution

  • Align broader business goals and objectives effectively across the PCM business, product management and marketing organizations to drive the EPCM growth roadmap.
  • Partner with Product to scope new development efforts, prioritize initiatives and hold development teams accountable for successful delivery of agreed-upon features, synthesize customer feedback to drive improvement in new releases and inform product roadmap.
  • Partner with Delivery on solution 'blueprints for success' including data flow diagrams, measurement plans and intelligent targeting design.
  • Increase speed-to-decision via business rules development, programmatic triggers development, better modeling, simplifying IQ implementation and making data usage easier. Simplify processes for data synthesis, faster learnings and automated 'click-to-apply' opportunities with more immediate results.
  • Liaise with broader Epsilon PeopleCloud products/solutions and Publicis agency teams, creating opportunities for enhanced EPCM collaboration and cross-penetration across the Groupe.


Product Activation in conjunction with Center of Excellence

  • Serve as Measurement SME working closely with Center Of Excellence / Client Services leadership to advance greater adoption and sales opportunities of EPCM new solutions and premium features. Innovate around repeatable playbooks for strategic execution. Establish and monitor progress against targets, creating action plans for teams to address gaps and drive continuous improvement.
  • Measure product adoption, business value contribution and platform growth for articulation to organization in a narrative conveying success with case study development and testimonials generation.
  • Create original thought leadership content for repeatable use in client strategic business reviews, webinars & roundtables.


Strategic Thought Leadership amplified Messaging Solutions

  • Serve as a key member of the Measurement & Activation team focused on driving growth, retention, and success of the business through greater and more measurable solution intelligence enablement.
  • Design strategic frameworks to develop, test and drive results from improved business intelligence.


Skills:

  • Strategic mindset with singular focus on outcomes achievement with accurate performance readout
  • Strong knowledge of SAAS, customer data, analytics, predictive intelligence, modeling & IQ/AI
  • Writing, editing and approval of business plans, solution design documents, all forms of requirements, UAT plans/timelines and solution screen shot mocks including client-facing, visual-first presentations
  • Excellent at PPT using visual storytelling techniques to convey complex information in simple terms
  • Collaborative; works well in a highly matrixed environment; comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Can guide a vision through to execution with strong project oversight and development/adherence to RACI
  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset who is good at managing up
  • Transform client-specific initiatives or results into generic or verticalized, reusable solutions with universal applicability across a variety of account opportunities to penetrate additional sales with little effort.
  • Transform successful project results in metrics-first case studies and client testimonials with ease
  • Marketing strategies including segmentation, model usage and tuning including DES/VAP/CLS and IQ/ML/AI
  • Quickly read, analyze and synthesize data or campaign / customer results into knowledge, decisions, recommendations and actions for marketing impact
  • Competitive research, partner evaluation and feature/function battle cards
  • Detailed knowledge of marketer KPIs including cost savings & efficiencies including staff / org
  • Strong advocate for Epsilon KPI development including usage, billing and alerts for associate usage
  • Knowledge of campaign creation best practices, creative & offer strategy and test/learn
  • Deep experience in analytics techniques such as audience profiling & indexing, segmentation, snapshotting, aggregations, modeling and ML/AI
  • Prioritization on most important goals to deliver high quality, fast and focus on big bets
  • Address situations that are broadly defined, complex, diverse, & occasionally unprecedented (for example, Apple Privacy leadership)


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from a reputable four-year institution or equivalent work experience required, preferably in marketing, technology, or business management required.
  • 8+ years of experience working at a technology company in digital marketing with SaaS model.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and in a matrix environment with a global perspective to achieve company objectives.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills, both verbal & written.
  • Demonstrated success with 5+ years of experience in leading and managing highly functioning teams.
  • Performance management and talent development strength.
