Event Marketing Specialist II
Dynamics of the Role
This position will be a key member of the Event Marketing team supporting our Financial Services business by assisting with the production of trade shows, special events, thought leadership conferences, and advisory board meetings related to marketing initiatives. This position will help build strategic customer loyalty through successfully planning and executing events targeted at increasing visibility, retaining customers and attracting new prospects.
How You'll Contribute:
- Build and lead the strategic and tactical operational plans to ensure perfectly executed events that achieve the event goals.
- Manage the execution of high visibility events- handle event logistics leading up to, the day(s) of the event, and post-event- venue sourcing, catering, audio visual, branding, event app, budget reconciliation, etc.
- Consult with our international counterparts to ensure their local thought leadership events are in-line with our event playbook.
- Work closely with leadership and stakeholders across the organization, including sales, marketing, and Financial Services business, to ensure alignment of approach at all events.
- Act as a consultant to share expertise, guidance and establish criteria on selecting sites, developing marketing materials, building registration processes, and providing on-site management.
- Plan, forecast, and manage a budget of around $1M+.
- Act as a strategic partner to the business by recommending improvements to previous events, implementing industry best practices, suggest innovative ideas and cost efficiencies to ensure event success.
- Coordinate deliverables with marketing strategy and creative services teams including graphics, literature, advertising, promotional items, etc.
- Help with lead generation efforts by keeping track of event leads, following up with sales organization, keeping CRM up-to-date.
- Coordinate with members of the marketing team to compile dashboards, trackers, and reports.
- Manage relationships with industry associations. Advise marketing on association promotional options for maximum exposure.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelors’ degree in marketing, communications or similar discipline with at least 5 years of marketing or event coordination experience in a professional setting.
- Excellent customer service/client skills.
- Strong project management and follow-through skills.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Salesforce (or any other CRM), Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience with event registration software and event applications is preferred.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20%, mostly domestic but with the potential for international travel as well.
