About Kin

Notice: Due to the current circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kin Insurance has shifted to a remote workforce. Kin Insurance exists to change home insurance from what it is to what it should be. We do this by applying data science and analytics to make decisions, automation to reduce redundancies and unnecessary costs, and innovative thinking to change the way customers interact with and get value from their home insurance provider. Currently four years old, Kin began with the notion that technology could improve our industry, so we started by researching the most important part of our business: the customer. After building our platform from the ground up, we launched the Kin Interninsurance Network, a customer-owned carrier in Florida. By applying our vision for a data-driven, technology-forward insurance company, we are able to offer customers affordable insurance in a straightforward, simplified approach. In 2020, Kin is continuing to grow in Florida while expanding into other states.

So, what’s the role?

As Kin continues to rapidly grow our business, we have the need to expand our marketing team, and are creating a stand-alone lifecycle marketing role. This individual will develop, test, and implement email, SMS, and social media campaigns designed to engage, educate, and nurture customers while driving traffic to Kin. The lifecycle marketer will partner with our Content and Design teams on campaigns, lending an analytical, data-centric approach optimizing customer engagement outcomes. This is an opportunity to build and own a new function that will have a direct impact on company revenue and growth. 

A day in the life could include:

  • Testing, analyzing, and reporting results of email,SMS and other communication campaigns
  • Developing automated messaging triggers for prospective customers
  • Collaborating with Kin’s Content Director to create and update customer profiles and produce customized content journeys
  • Identifying opportunities to leverage Kin’s content across customers’ full lifecycle
  • Analysis of consumer buying behaviors in home insurance markets
  • Customizing communications for various market and customer segments
  • Identify opportunities to offer our partners’ products and services to Kin’s customers
  • Generating passive sales and new business opportunities

I’ve got skills...but do I have the necessary ones?

  • 2+ years ownership of email, SMS, and/or database and lifecycle marketing strategy and operation
  • Passion for customer-centric marketing
  • Ability to develop programs from scratch 
  • Data-focused approach
  • Marketing Automation platform experience required
  • Experience working closely with sales and business development teams
  • Channel management experience is a plus
  • Experience working at an agile, fast-paced growth-stage company a plus

Location

Located in the historic Merchandise Mart Plaza, Kin's office is located directly off the Brown and Purple line stops, overlooking the Chicago River.
