The Digital Marketing team is looking for a Marketing Associate to support the Morningstar Blog. The team believes in creating user-centric digital experiences and is passionate about supporting the revenue goals of the firm. In partnership with members from across the organization this marketer will execute on the blog’s goals to generate leads for the organization. This position will play an important role as the blog continues to grow and impact lead generation goals. In this role, you will be involved in all aspects of managing a blog and see through the development of blog posts from idea to publishing. You’ll be responsible for managing the blog’s publishing calendar, communicating with blog contributors, optimizing blog content for search and conversion, creating campaigns to promote blog content through a variety marketing channels, and reporting on the performance of the blog. You will also help generate ideas for new content and digital marketing experiences that will support the goals of the team. We’re seeking an organized, self-starter with strong communication skills. This position is perfect for someone with a passion for digital marketing and desire to learn new skills and technologies. The ideal candidate for someone who is collaborative, analytical, creative, and able to balance multiple projects. This position is based in our Chicago office. 

Responsibilities include: 
     Manage the blog publishing calendar and workflow – manage a rich content calendar that attracts qualified visitors; communicate with blog contributors on the status of their posts; publish new blog content in Adobe Experience Manager; collaborate with design to create images for blog posts. 

    Search engine optimization (SEO) – perform keyword research to recommend new blog topics; optimize new and existing content for search; identify and implement opportunities for link-building. 

    Review and optimize blog content – ensure blog content is in alignment with our blog guidelines and brand voice; revise blog content to optimize for blog/digital format. 

    Evaluate and recommend new content for the blog – work with the blog team, marketers, internal thought leaders and researchers to repurpose and develop blog content. 

    Create social media campaigns to promote blog content – coordinate weekly social calendar to promote new blog content; create thematic social media campaigns to promote top performing blog posts; partner with the social media team to execute campaigns. 

    Analyze blog data – provide analysis of the key blog performance data and blog campaign performance. 

    Optimize blog experience and conversion – use data to iteratively test and optimize blog pages to improve conversion. 

    Create and execute blog campaigns – use data to provide new ideas for how to best leverage the blog in campaigns through all channels (website, social, email, interactive, paid, search, etc.); collaborate with marketers to create campaign, report results 

    Improving blog process and workflow – recommend and implement new ways to improve the blog process and collaborate with contributors and stakeholders 

    Execute digital marketing campaigns – provide support for new digital lead generation campaigns that could span a variety of channels: website, social, email, interactive, paid, search, etc. 

Qualifications: 

    1-3 years of experience in digital marketing 

    Excited about digital marketing, and general understanding of leveraging content to attract users to a website 

    Strong project management skills 

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

    Proven experience in working cross-functionally within an organization 

    Able to handle multiple projects with several stakeholders simultaneously 

    Strong analytical mindset 

    A great team player, enthusiastic and proactive 

    Self-starter and passion for “doing the impossible;” committed to testing, learning, and iterating 

    A creative thinker who enjoys writing and editing 

    A quick adopter of new technologies 

    Any experience working in an Agile environment and using Jira, Adobe Experience Manager, Tableau, Google Analytics, Moz, or Eloqua is a plus

Every day is a little different. Our team is focused on POC (Proof of Concepts). My work involves problem-solving, development and software design. I work on the Data collections team, currently most of this involves, on a high level, automating the process currently used to collect data from raw sources through Machine Learning.
