Cohesion is a leading Intelligent Buildings software solution that is disrupting how buildings operate and how people engage with buildings – from real estate owners/investors, operators, building engineers, to tenants and visitors. Our cutting-edge converged IoT-enabled platform brings together building systems, building software, and business applications into a single portal for on web and mobile platforms to forge the path to autonomous buildings.  

We are searching for an action-oriented Marketing Director to join our rapidly growing team in our Chicago office.  This position will be responsible for B2B brand strategy and content marketing capabilities, including go-to-market strategies, creating short- and long-form written pieces, as well as the creation of video and other media assets.  This position will collaborate with key stakeholders across the company (particularly Sales and Product), will manage a team of up to 3 and will play a key role in building the cohesion brand and driving growth.   

What you will do:  

  • Strategy | Collaboratively with company leadership, develop insight-driven brand and marketing strategies, brand positioning and go-to-market campaigns  

  • Planning & Execution | Plan and successfully execute integrated, multi-channel marketing plans that drive brand awareness, lead generation and conversion 

  • Manage marketing calendars and campaign planning with Marketing Coordinator 

  • Organize, manage, and implement marketing executions to ensure timelines and deliverables are met 

  • Manage campaign performance tracking and reporting to ensure ability to analyze and attribute success of all marketing efforts 

  • Content Creation | Conceptualize, design, and create visual and written content for Marketing and Sales needs, including but not limited to:   

  • Graphic designs (brand assets, icons, infographics, animations, templates, etc.) 

  • Video assets (product demos, launch teasers, corporate assets, etc.)  

  • Short- and long-form written content (product messaging, white papers, blogs, etc.) 

  • Promotional materials (product launch, user engagement materials, etc.) 

  • Oversee Marketing Coordinator’s content creation and deliverables 

  • Maintain and uphold brand guidelines internally and with agency partners 

  • Competitive Intel | Conduct regular analysis and research of our competitors’ activities to develop recommendations that positively impact growth 

  • Team Development | Manage and develop a team of up to 3 direct reports  

Required Qualifications 

  • 6-8+ years of professional SaaS content marketing experience at startups or fast-paced environments 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising or a related field required 

  • Proven professional experience creating visual/graphic designs, short- and long-form content, digital marketing (email, social, paid search, SEO, etc.) campaigns and using Adobe Illustrator, Sketch or other design tools 

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating your design process and examples 

  • Excellent written communicator and storyteller  

  • Excellent visual communicator with a natural eye for design 

  • Proven experience in content design and creation 

  • Proven experience with digital marketing techniques and tools, such as WIX, Google Analytics and ActiveCampaign or similar tools  

  • Passionate the opportunity to take ownership of a marketing plan and bring it to life 

  • Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an environment of constant change

  • Excellent project management skills  

  • Technology industry, specifically software experience, is a strong plus 

Desired Qualifications  

  • Experience in real estate industry  

  • Experience managing direct reports, creative agencies and/or freelance designers  

  • Experience evaluating creative needs, writing briefs and providing creative feedback
