Marketing & Events Specialists are key players on the Marketing team and help to bring the Tempus brand and brand message to physicians, researchers, pharma companies and all other healthcare professionals. Events marketing programs range in size & scope, from trade show executions to medical advisory boards to internal corporate events. The Events Marketing team also manages all event sponsorships and are always striving to prove ROI for all programming.
As a Marketing & Events Specialist, you will aid in the planning, coordination, and execution of marketing programs ranging in size, specifically serving our Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical audiences. This is a fast-paced, project management heavy position that regularly works non-traditional hours, as travel is to be expected. Expected to travel up to two times a quarter, with weekend trips included.
Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:
- Support Marketing & Events Manager in all parts of the event and concept planning process, including but not limited to:
- Contracting and planning exhibits, sponsorships, speaking engagements, and receptions at 4+ large scale and 40+ small scale events
- Development of event strategy plans, and customer meeting coordination, aimed at coordinating internal employees across various teams
- Sourcing and coordinating vendors, venues, entertainment, food and beverage for internal and external events
- Management of third party contractors for exhibits
- Project Manage and produce webinars in coordination with the Marketing team
- Internal coordination of speaking engagements, including presentation development project management
- Budget development and tracking across all events
- Planner of the Tempus Holiday Party and coordination assistance for National Sales Meeting
- Planning social events, including managing the invitation and RSVP processes
- Act as a liaison with the sales team to coordinate meeting scheduling support, attendance, and ROI reporting
- On-site event support including set-up, check-in, flow, branding, and break-down
Job Requirements/ Specifications:
- 3+ years of event planning experience, preferred education planning and tradeshow production in a tech and/or healthcare setting is a plus
- Self motivated with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Knowledge around event success tracking
- Strong organizational skills while coordinating multiple activities concurrently
- Strong speaking skills for purposes of large internal meetings
- Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams on creative projects, from concept to execution
- Quick and thoughtful when handling unforeseen circumstances in a collected manner, without letting it affect the quality of work being produced
- Strong professional & effective communication
- Strong Google Suite skills preferred
- Salesforce Experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required
