Company Overview

At Motorola Solutions, we create technologies our customers refer to as their lifeline. Our technology platforms in communications, software, video and services help our customers work safely and more efficiently. Whether it’s helping firefighters see through smoke, enabling police officers to see around street corners, or reliably keeping the lights on in homes and businesses around the world, our work supports those who put their lives on the line to keep us safe. Bring your passion, potential and talents to Motorola Solutions, and help us usher in a new era in public safety and security.

Department Overview
Motorola Solutions has been on the cutting edge of technology for over 90 years. Our public safety customers are some of the most demanding people in the world - and with good reason. They trust their lives to us, and we earn that trust daily by providing them with solutions that help them be more efficient, more effective, and safer in the moments that matter.
In Global Marketing, our mission is to bring that story to life...to show the world what the Motorola Solutions public safety ecosystem can do, and help customers understand how our solutions can assist them in their mission.
The Software Enterprise team within Global Marketing advocates for the software that helps our customers manage the entire public safety workflow - from incoming 9-1-1 call through case closure. This particular role has responsibilities within the Field Response & Reporting portion of the workflow.
Job Description

We’re looking for a storyteller who can clearly communicate the positive outcomes that result from public safety agencies using Motorola Solutions software. This is not just a function of an individual solution, but also the integration between our solutions to streamline the overall public safety workflow.

You will own the messaging and collateral for all aspects of the software in the dynamic Field Response and Reporting sleeve - thoroughly understanding the Big Picture for these users as well as updating materials for existing products, helping customers stay aware of the latest capabilities, and handling new solution launches. You will translate new features and capabilities into specific real-world benefits to be shared with our customers.

Your audience includes the police chiefs and IT managers who will make purchasing decisions, and the officers and supervisors on the street who use the software every shift - not to mention industry analysts and publications keenly interested in what we are doing in the world of public safety software. It’s up to you to make sure they understand our value and capabilities, see the future vision we are building toward, and ultimately want to purchase our solutions.

You will be managing several solutions within the FR&R space - including legacy products, international solutions, and exciting new acquisitions - so excellent project management skills are important to grow relationships with key stakeholders, and deliver high-quality material on time.

In addition to specific solutions, you will also have ownership of a larger “Big Idea” within the Software Enterprise. You will build on our collection of compelling Cloud content, helping customers understand and embrace the transition to cloud solutions and drive industry thought leadership around the cloud.

So here’s an overview of what is expected of you:

  • Be the FR&R marketing subject matter expert to the software product and business teams and within the global marketing team

  • Partner with the product managers of the various solutions to understand the software and its key features and capabilities

  • Prioritize and translate those features into customer-focused outcomes and create a compelling value proposition

  • Properly brief and provide direction to creative agencies, or internal graphic designers, on development of marketing materials

  • Collaborate with other marketing managers within the Software Enterprise team to ensure cross-promotion of suite solutions and an understanding of the larger ecosystem value proposition

  • Understand the sales process and help create messaging and tools needed for our sales team

  • Work with partners in regional marketing and corporate communications to ensure your story is consistently delivered and your marketing materials properly adapted in the region
