Product Marketing Manager
The Group: The Products group is the home of manufacturing and innovation at Morningstar. The individuals in this group transform our high-quality data, independent research, and technological expertise into well-designed products that delight our clients. The group’s product management, product development, and service teams collaborate with our Client Solutions group to help provide clients with relevant products and bundled solutions.
The Team: The Direct and Reporting team does this by creating products that help financial professionals and the investors they serve, achieve financial goals. The Morningstar Direct and Reporting business is one of the largest software units, with a large pre-existing user group – still prime for market and wallet share growth globally. For the Direct and Reporting solutions business, this means creating tools that help financial professionals be more efficient, innovative, and connect with their clients in a more meaningful way.
The Role: We are seeking a strategic, collaborative, positive, and curious senior product marketer to lead our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and emerging data/research capabilities across all products within Direct and Reporting. Morningstar as a global organization is focusing heavily on expanding our expertise in ESG and looking to the future for what the next generation of financial professionals will need in terms of data sets to be successful. As such, the product marketer for this role will need to be passionate about go-to-market strategy and execution.
The role will report to the Director of Product Marketing and will need to be comfortable working with several key stakeholders in product management, sales, and success.
Responsibilities:
Lead the go-to-market process, set and measure progress against key metrics, including internal and external communication strategy around ongoing product updates and major releases.
Create and execute the product marketing strategy in partnership with our marketing, product management, sales and support teams across all relevant segments and audiences.
Measure, analyze, and report on the success of marketing programs periodically as required with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to continuously improve our outcomes relative to our goals
Support demand generation and content marketing campaigns with expertly crafted persona-specific content
Strong writing skills to develop messaging and positioning that distils complexity into simplicity, and cuts through competitive noise with a clear value prop.
Own the creation and maintenance of foundational marketing content including, but not limited to, message maps, value propositions, market sizing, segmentation, competitive intelligence, buyer/user personas, buyer’s journey experiences and sales enablement materials. Find ways to integrate into customer touchpoints in the business.
Use a data-driven approach to the development and measurement of marketing campaigns focused on driving retention, wallet and market share growth for the business.
Ability to determine the best marketing channels to leverage in order to reach specific awareness or revenue goals.
Develop and refine sales enablement and client-facing assets to clearly outline the value proposition and benefits of Morningstar’s offerings to potential clients.
Lead voice of the customer work in the form of win/loss interviews, NPS studies, and client surveys. Leverage these findings in the development of a marketing roadmap, influence the product roadmap, and create sales enablement content such as case studies, testimonials, and videos.
Responsible for working with the global teams to tailor strategy, messaging, or enablement to meet regional needs.

Minimum of 5 years in a product marketing or management capacity
Financial industry experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree required.
