Public Relations Manager
Being a Public Relations Manager at iManage means…
You are experienced in Public & Analyst Relations with a passion for creating effective strategies as well as wanting to roll up your sleeves to execute and deliver on the programs you create. You get a buzz from identifying and telling targeted messages in order to promote a company’s brand, vision, mission, and to generate thought leadership content in the global media and industry analyst community. You are looking for a challenge and as the first feet on the ground you will have the opportunity to create and shape this function.
The purpose of your role is to increase brand awareness and credibility of iManage and its technology globally. You will be responsible for driving an overall increase in media share-of-voice and industry analyst awareness. You will report to the Head of Brand and Advocacy and collaborate closely with the relevant marketing, product, industry, sales and business leaders based across our Chicago and London offices. You will design and execute proactive strategies, plans and campaigns to maximize positive positioning and media coverage. The role will include direct media relations as well as the recruitment and management of a PR Agency if needed to help support our ambitious plans. Industry Analyst relations is also a key part of this role
iM Responsible For…
- Planning, executing and measuring the global PR plan to maximize our editorial share of voice, and generating positive editorial comments focused on the media that will be relevant to our target customers.
- Developing compelling and engaging stories and themes that position iManage as a thought-leader in its chosen markets in collaboration with our Executive Leadership, Product and Regional Marketing teams
- Developing an influential, internal network that generates a constant stream of company and product news that can be communicated externally through regular news releases
- Managing and developing professional working relationships with key journalists, internal clients and Analysts. Recruit agency as needed to extend reach.
- Ensuring that key customer successes are communicated to the marketplace by driving an aggressive customer reference program
- Collaborating with Marketing team to build comprehensive tracking, reporting and analysis of coverage and content across all media platforms (PR, digital, social, etc.)
- Partnering with others across the organization such as Sales leaders to understand specific regional sales requirements
iM Qualified Because I Have…
- A BA/BS Degree in business, communications, or marketing with an emphasis in digital media, social media, PR or related field
- 5-10 years of corporate communications experience with a B2B enterprise SaaS company; preferably within the legal or financial vertical or enterprise content services solutions.
- Experience creating and implementing proven successful strategies to generate market awareness and develop thought leadership
- A proven ability to develop productive relationships with media and analysts
- Strong attention to detail to ensure all communication is crisp and accurate
- Strong collaboration and negotiation skills, gaining support and trust across the organization to achieve agreed upon business outcomes
- Excellent communication skills with proven ability to clearly convey complex ideas in written, presentation and spoken formats to a variety of audiences, including: customers, partners, sales, analysts, journalists
- Outstanding project management skills and the proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives
Bonus Points if you have…
- Gartner and/or Forrester analyst experience
- Existing relationships with media in Software, Communications and/or the Salesforce Ecosystem
- Working within an international/global company
- Excellent writing and editing skills for audiences ranging from general to business to technical – including press releases, talking points, Q&As, white papers, etc.
- Excellent media relations skills and ability to develop stories and understand news cycles – with the support of public relations agency resources
