Position: Senior Director of Digital Marketing

Reports to: Monique Jaramillo, Vice President, National 

Start date: March 2021

Despite decades of work and millions of  dollars invested, the degree divide continues to be one of our nation’s most complex and critical injustices, with deep roots in systems of oppression and racism.  Only 22% of students from low-income communities earn a college degree, compared to 67% of their peers from high-income areas. 

COVID-19 further exposed and exacerbated inequity, with communities of color and those in low-income areas impacted at disproportionately high rates. We are looking for individuals to join us in our fight for equity during this extremely critical time.

  • OneGoal has grown from a small afterschool program serving just 32 students in Chicago to a nationwide movement that is serving some 12,500 students in six communities.

  • Our model, honed over 12 years, has three core differentiators: A rigorous, culturally relevant content and experience, cohorts of students who can support each other over the course of three years, and a teacher who supports our most vulnerable students’ long-term ambitions.

  • 86% of OneGoal high school graduates enroll in a postsecondary institution and 76% of those who enroll persist one year after high school.

The Person
The Senior Director of Digital Marketing builds OneGoal’s overall digital marketing vision and direction to increase general brand awareness and generate qualified leads. They will be an integral member of the Marketing + Communications team, which oversees brand and message development, marketing strategy, digital channels, project management, creative, and communications. They will be a critical partner, working in close alignment with our sales and business development teams to generate awareness, contribute to building the sales pipeline, and engaging audiences for both our core model and District Partnership Program.  

The Senior Director of Digital Marketing will manage a Director of Digital Marketing and consultants to oversee our digital channels and  build compelling and strategic content to support our program, business development, and fundraising goals.  Responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with our sales team to develop an integrated marketing and sales strategy

  • Leading the development and execution of a fully integrated digital marketing strategy

  • Setting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and milestones for our digital strategy, and managing the team against them

  • Preparing and managing the digital marketing budget

  • Coaching the rest of the Marketing + Communications team to understand digital strategy and how to invest/work with clients in the strategy

  • Developing our user experience (journey mapping) to move audiences from consideration to investment and ensure they remain engaged throughout their experience with OneGoal

  • Building and managing process to regularly analyze external trends and internal insights (Social, Google Analytics, email, etc.) to inform digital strategy and report on progress

  • Managing and coaching the Director of Digital Marketing as well as defining scope of work and overseeing OneGoal’s work with digital marketing consultants

  • Working closely with the sales team to build marketing automation campaigns and related digital strategies, including SEO/SEM and other paid media campaigns

Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years of experience in digital marketing, with expertise in channel management, SEO, and user journeys (Required)

  • Experience managing a team and external vendors, agencies, or freelancers to reach ambitious goals  (Required)

  • Strong analytical skills (Required)

  • Proven track record generating qualified leads (Required)

  • Fluent in Google Analytics (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of Salesforce and Pardot or similar automation tools (Preferred)
