This role supports the fast paced strategic growth of Home Chef’s retail business via its marketing efforts. The Sr Associate, Retail Marketing coordinates and executes the go to market strategy, customer messaging and activation tactics for Home Chef retail products within Kroger. This role requires a high level of collaboration working cross functionally with teams both internally at Home Chef and with our partners at Kroger’s general office in Cincinnati, Kroger divisions (including Mariano’s & Harris Teeter) as well as Kroger’s data partner, 84.51.
Manage the planning and execution of Home Chef’s retail marketing plans for the Meat Dept and Holiday programs:
- Develop quarterly plans to include promotional and shopper support in and out of store
- Manage all packaging and merchandising plans and executions
- Manage marketing calendar to ensure tactics are correctly planned & tracked
- Develop internal creative briefs to ensure messaging and approach is consistent across tactic
- Own timelines and work cross functionally with key stakeholders to meet tactic deadlines
- Communicate retail marketing execution plans with broader cross functional team members including Kroger category managers
Analyze and track the performance of retail marketing executions:
- Analyze performance of marketing tactics, develop and report out key insights monthly
- Recommend program improvements based on key data insights
- Analyze promotional spend to ensure successful net revenue targets
- Track KPIs for each executed marketing tactic monthly
- Manage the relationships with reporting key contacts at Home Chef, Kroger & 84.51 data science teams
In depth analysis of the Home Chef retail shopper:
- Use 84.51 Stratum to develop an ongoing review of the Home Chef shopper at Kroger
- Explore key insights to find better ways to target, acquire, reward the Home Chef shopperManage the relationship with key contacts at 84.51
- Merchandising Insights team

- Individuals who are motivated, hungry to learn, data-driven and eager to get valuable hands-on experience will be rewarded with opportunities to grow within this role
- 4+ years of experience in a rigorous fast-paced work environment – CPG, manufacturing, data analytics, consulting, etc
- Completion of a four-year degree program in a related field
- Professional communication and relationship building skills
- Previous experience with Kroger or other grocery retailer preferred
- Previous experience with fresh/perishable products preferred
- Previous marketing experience preferredAdvanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize work
- Exceptional Excel/Google Sheets analytics with an innate feel for numbersIndependent self-starter, driven to find solutions without significant oversight
- Intellectually curious, with a strong interest in the food, e-commerce and start-up space
- Results driven active problem solver with a natural desire to get things done
