What will your day look like?
You are an inspirational person with excellent partnership building and project management skills who can carry out Alliant’s social impact strategy to reduce the economic, educational and social inequalities between those who have digital access and those who do not. The Social Impact Director is an individual contributor who is passionate about digital inclusion and helping underserved communities and individuals obtain affordable broadband, internet-enabled devices, and digital literacy training. The incumbent is responsible for the management and evolution of the organization’s suite of digital inclusion programs and initiatives. General direction is received from the VP, Digital Strategy & Innovative Growth.
Responsibilities
Do you see yourself doing this?
- Delivers social impact projects and programs, working with cross-functional teams (internal and external)
- Develops, manages and expands relationship with partners (non-profits, FinTechs, suppliers, community organizations) working on digital inclusion
- Serves as subject matter expert on digital inclusion and educates company, employees and partners on closing the digital divide via trainings, presentations, written material, and other regular updates
- Develops, drives awareness, implements and evaluates volunteerism and engagement programs for employees, key partners and members (when appropriate)
- Establishes measurable, achievable goals and provides consistent reporting
- Plans communications that advance our social impact goals
- Builds Alliant’s reputation as an advocate in digital equity
- Creates an impact on the organization as a whole in terms of melding our social impact strategy with Alliant’s culture, experiences, products and services
- Recommends and implements new initiatives and enhancements to social impact program
- Stays connected to Government policy and national/global developments in digital inclusion
- Create and provide reporting to the Board of Directors, Executive Team and Alliant Foundation
- Responsible for effectively leveraging Alliant Foundation funding to support digital inclusion
- Positively influences others across multiple areas of the organization
- Manage and develop foundation marketing, communications, website and other content
- Partner with the foundation board to deliver upon foundation goals
Qualifications
What makes you a great fit?
You’ll be a great fit if in addition to the completion of a Bachelor’s degree, required, and you have:
- 10+ years’ relevant professional experience, preferably in marketing, communications, public relations, corporate social responsibility, social science, or non-profit development/ management
- Visionary who is great at strategic thinking and execution
- Experience with policy advocacy communications and working with public agencies, elected officials and other policy makers preferred
- In-depth knowledge of corporate social responsibility and corporate giving programs
- Strong project management skills
- Builder of authentic working relationships
- Ability to influence without authority
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Driven to deliver measurable results
- Ability to deliver under tight deadlines and demonstrated ability to effectively resolve issues and implement solutions
- Experience creating and delivering engaging training with both adult and youth learners (preferred)
- Experience running in-person and online events
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and webinar tools
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate others
