Vice President, Global Brand and Marketing
Responsible for creating and executing strategic marketing and communications plans to support DBRS Morningstar, a Nationally Recognized Statistical Ratings Organization (NRSRO) and non-credit ratings products. Our global credit ratings business is focused on providing unique perspectives, improving transparency, and providing investors with information and tools that help them make informed investment decisions. DBRS Morningstar is a subsidiary of Morningstar, Inc., a leading provider of independent investment research.
Job Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities fall under the following areas:• Advertising and branding- Create content for advertisements, handouts, brochures and other collateral material- Identify and lead advertising campaigns in target publications and outlets- Collaborate with analysts to rebrand presales and other documents for distribution- Work with the Morningstar, Inc. design team to ensure all materials are consistent with corporate brand• Conferences and events- Collaborate with Business Development and analytical teams to Identify and sponsor conferences and events that align with objective to increase brand awareness and target decision makers- Work with other teams on all aspects of conference sponsorship including set-up and break down of booth, distribution of collateral material, ordering giveaways, team dinner, etc.- Secure speaking roles for analysts and executive team to participate as panelists and moderators- Organize in-house events to be held in Morningstar's global offices for clients and press• Internal communications- Support Morningstar, Inc. in communicating company-wide corporate initiatives and announcements to credit employees- Raise awareness of work credit is doing on The Pond, Yammer and other Morningstar, Inc. internal platforms- Work with credit executive team to ensure consistency in presentations and communications to company• Social media- Work with media relations, investor strategy, and business development to leverage the team's social media accounts and ensure that all content reflects the team's brand.- Work with outside agency to leverage Twitter and LinkedIn's paid social media- Collaborate with Morningstar, Inc.'s digital marketing team to expand social media presence for the credit organization• Video / Website- Manage video studios in global offices, conduct interviews to be posted on websites- Set up credit webinars for and invite press to join- Work with credit operations team to make enhancements to website to increase visibility and align with Morningstar brand
Qualifications• Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills• Excellent relationship management skills• Ability to work with executive leadership and teams across credit ratings and products• Self-starter who has the ability to take a project and run with it• Superior leadership qualities; roll up your sleeves leader /"doer"• Passion for Morningstar's mission of creating great products that empower investor success• 10+ years of experience in marketing and communications; knowledge of credit ratings industry or financial services preferred• Public company experience preferred• Ability to juggle many balls flawlessly while meeting tight deadlines• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or related field
