Role Overview: We are looking for a passionate, assertive and experienced VP of Marketing to help us transform commercial insurance though collaborative and experienced leadership. This role will report to the CEO and will develop, align and execute on a focused and effective marketing strategy and execution plan aligned with business goals. Our marketing leader needs to be highly motivated, adaptable, metrics-driven and able to collaborate and get work done in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

  • A proven marketing leader who brings deep commercial and property insurance expertise and market insights to the team.
  • A leader who embraces change, manages the shifts in business and market needs and adapts with minimal coaching or management.
  • A passionate marketer who loves to create simple marketing strategies with aligned execution plans and measurements.
  • A "digital-first" marketer who will drive, improve and optimize convr.com, content strategy and creation as well as bring other digital channel "best practices" on marketing strategies, execution and funnel management.
  • An experienced product-marketer balanced with demand generation capabilities to help build a foundation for product marketing and to drive growth and net new customers.
  • A collaborative marketer with a track record of driving sales and marketing alignment to drive aggressive market growth and deliver on marketing and sales business objectives.
  • A leader who knows how to increase brand awareness and amplify the brand through thought leadership programs, effective analyst and media relations creatively and effectively.
  • Brings a deep understanding and experience with Account-based Marketing (ABM programs) and event presence and engagement to optimize investments and results.
  • Likes to "roll-up" her/his sleeves and serve as a "player" in executing programs while leading as a "coach" to the marketing team, peers and outsourced service providers.


What You'll be Doing:

  • Drive Convr marketing strategy and the execution of the supporting plan to optimize brand awareness and demand generation.
  • Manage the marketing team and build an organizational foundation to scale as we grow.
  • Learn the business and product and become an external thought leader and communicator of the Convr value proposition to customers and prospects.
  • Own the execution of marketing activities in key areas, including thought leadership, analyst and media relations, digital and in-person events management, social media, content creation and blog growth.
  • Ensure Convr optimizes its presence at all events. Responsible for coordinating every aspect of event management including setting goals and metrics, registering attendees, coordinating logistic
  • Maintain a content calendar for all channels of communication and ensure work is completed on-schedule and within-budget.
  • Establish a product marketing function that collaborates with product and sales to maximize product launches and updates while assuring sales is enabled with content and training to convert leads to opportunities to customers.
  • Set objectives, goals and metrics in key areas and be directly responsible for results.
  • Report on progress to goals and metrics using HubSpot, 6sense, and other tools as required.
  • Create content, including collateral, blog posts, articles, case studies and white papers while working with writers and design agencies as needed to achieve high-quality results.
  • Manage email campaigns out of HubSpot as part of integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to produce insights for (1) advising senior management and (2) creating more compelling, unique content.


Role Requirements:

  • 10+ years marketing experience in planning and executing marketing campaigns including email, social media, blogs, tradeshows/conferences, case studies and white papers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with proven track record to execute on multiple projects.
  • Strong knowledge of new (digital/social media) and traditional marketing channels.
  • Ability to grasp technically sophisticated concepts and convey them in a non-technical, simplified manner.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to analyze competing companies and solutions and track vertical market research.
  • Experience with social media marketing, email marketing and content generating/editing tools a plus.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and written. Clear and concise communication skills; able to create well-written content in a style that resonates with its target audience.
  • Self-starter able to work independently.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Technology start-up experience.
  • Experience with HubSpot.
  • Experience in Insurance, specifically in Commercial & Property lines.
  • Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in Marketing or Business Management.
