Summary
DFIN is seeking a Citrix Engineer to help build, maintain, and support our global VDI infrastructure. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that delivers and maintains mission critical infrastructure to meet dynamic business needs. Together we will ensure the highest levels of availability, performance and security by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked hardware, software, and associated operating systems.
Responsibilities
•Build, deliver and maintain desktop OS and application images. Participate in testing and provisioning desktops
•Responsible for Citrix administration and support using Citrix Studio, Director, and PVS
•Perform administration tasks including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, systems configuration, research log events and resource monitoring.
•Working tickets and requests from start to finish with a high level of customer service and communication.
•Liaison for design efforts within business or architecture teams to convey best practices, business alignment and requirements for supporting infrastructure.
•Management of infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and the underlying virtual environment.
•Troubleshooting as required. Lead problem-solving efforts with application support groups and outside vendors.
•Creating and maintaining custom scripts to increase system efficiency and minimize downtime due to required human intervention.
•Collaborate with various managers and other IT personnel to improve existing processes, increase automation and meet business goals.
•Administer on-call and after-hours technical support during scheduled outages and unscheduled emergency situations.
•Provide level 3 operational support via phone, email and ticketing system.
•Create and maintain documentation as it relates to infrastructure support and processes.
•Perform other duties and participate in projects as required.
Qualifications
•BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a similar field
•5+ years of experience with Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop in establishing platform standards, capacity planning, patching, upgrades, health checks, availability and performance troubleshooting
•5+ years of experience with Citrix administration and support using Citrix Studio, Director and Citrix profile management to create and manage machine catalogs, delivery groups and provision and support of virtual desktops with Microsoft Windows
•Experience with Netscaler configuration
•Able to apply broad work experience and knowledge when analyzing complex problems. Must be able to consistently identify critical elements, variables and alternatives to develop solutions.
•Must be able to organize/prioritize existing resources and incorporate new information as needed, to implement the most effective solutions. Able to communicate clearly and courteously with those who need to know of decisions/actions/problems. Able to apply excellent business acumen and collaborative skills when resolving problems.
•Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
•Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices.
•Strong background with deploying, maintaining, and administering Windows Server.
•Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
•Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
