Job Purpose:
Are you an experienced Incident Coordinator looking to work with a talented team of cyber professionals? Caterpillar is currently seeking a Cyber Security Incident Coordinator within Caterpillar's CSIRT (Computer Security Incident Response Team). As a cybersecurity professional at Caterpillar, you will make a global impact, enabling profitable growth by securing IT solutions with operational excellence. You will equip the enterprise with the tools and resources that drive secure collaboration, innovation and solutions that help our customers build a better world. Supporting the business operations of more than 500 facilities worldwide in more than 190 countries, you will work to protect every aspect of our business from collaboration tools that keep us connected, through additive manufacturing processes, to autonomous vehicle technology.
This position provides cybersecurity incident coordination and support. The role reports to the CSIRT Cybersecurity Detection and Incident Response Manager. This position will require someone who has demonstrated technical, organizational, and communication skills, with a strong aptitude to quickly learn new technologies and concepts.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Leading Cybersecurity incident response activities
  • Coordinating the activities of CSIRT and other support teams involved in incident response
  • Effectively communicating incident status to leadership through regular updates
  • Maintaining and updating documentation and timeline of incidents
  • Ensuring incident response processes are followed
  • Contacting, or coordinating with, other support groups as necessary to mitigate potential or active threats
  • Managing shift schedules during incident response
  • Coordinating and leading shift handoff update meetings
  • Assisting with the creation of daily incident updates and reports for leadership
  • Tracking and managing "to-do" items during and after incidents
  • Tracking and managing post incident remediation activities
  • Managing non-incident related CSIRT projects


Basic Requirements:

  • Experience coordinating critical incidents impacting the business of a large corporation
  • High level analytical skills, exceptional relationship management competencies, and relevant project management work experience with a demonstrated record to lead and execute information technology programs
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships within the team and organization to achieve common goals
  • Understanding of information security and the threat landscape to enterprise systems
  • Broad knowledge of IT systems including operating systems, infrastructure, and applications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology (or related field) or 6 years of experience, plus a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, engineering, or related field
  • Experience with building and refining processes within a growing organization
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule that occasionally includes nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and multiple work streams in a fast-paced environment


Top Candidate Will Also Have:

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems, engineering, business administration or a related field
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to communicate to the team and leadership
  • Ability to remain calm in high stress situations
  • Experience responding to and/or remediating cyber threats
  • Professional Cyber Security certifications
