What you’ll do:

As the Director of Facilities, you will be responsible for leading a team is responsible for developing Facilities plans based on company growth and future facilities needs. You and your team will help make our space welcoming, clean, and functional. Through build outs, furniture changes, events and day-to-day operations, you’ll make Uptake one of the greatest places to work!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Vendor management and onboarding new vendors and reviewing current vendors
  • Excellent communication with internal customers, executives, vendors and team
  • Manage budget of facilities maintenance and future prospecting
  • Proactively plan and manage space requirements
  • Oversee the entire Facilities staff and provide daily direction, oversight and feedback.
  • Manage the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, office space and new areas
  • Overseas the coordination of building space allocation and layout
  • Interface with internal customers and support departments such as security, IT and HR
  • Assist with moves. This includes moving of employee items as well as small tables.
  • Work with building management to arrange for deliveries.
  • Be available to meet vendors and delivery personnel before and after work hours to conform with Building rules and regulations to accept deliveries.
  • Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies
  • Any other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
  • Maintain furniture, appliances, doors, hardware, and wall surfaces as needed. Liaise with building management on tasks requiring building maintenance.

  • Ability to manage and mentor a variety of staff members
  • Communicate professionally and proactively with various members of the Uptake community
  • Self-starter with high level of initiative, flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.
  • Strong customer service and work ethic.
  • Able to meet schedules, manage budgets, and hit deadlines.
  • Ability to negotiate favorable terms with our long list of vendors
  • Proven ability to identify and address concerns with proposed solutions.
  • Ability to multitask while taking direction from various departments.
  • High level of detail orientation and good follow-through skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work.
  • Highly reliable and flexible work schedule as needed (infrequent work on the weekends/before or after hours may be required).
  • Bachelor’s Degree 

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in a facilities or related role, preferably with management level experience
  • Must be energetic, proactive, have a positive attitude, be willing to work with others and have excellent interpersonal skills.

Location

We are located in River North just right off the Chicago Brown Line stop. We also provide you with a free shuttle service to/from Ogilvie and Union.
