The Opportunity: The Director, Integration Management leads our Integration Management Office and is responsible for leading and managing all our post acquisition integration work. The team provides full lifecycle integration services and works across the entire company to successfully bring together companies in an accretive manner. This role is responsible for: a) planning and program managing the integration of every acquisition Litera makes; b) monitors and tracks the results of these acquisitions and proposes continuous improvement initiatives; and c) sets the standards for all internal project delivery.
A Day in the Life:

  • Work with Litera's M&A team on acquisition diligence and planning
  • Leads due diligence efforts for all M&A targets
  • Architects the announcement and integration strategies when a deal is completed
  • Tailors an integration approach to the acquired property and it's fit into Litera
  • Manages the day-to-day integration activities for larger acquisitions
  • Oversees the entire portfolio of integrations occurring at any given time
  • Works closely with the entire Litera senior executive team daily as part of realizing the value from each integration

Role progression:

Within 1 month, you will:

  • Learn Litera's organization, integration processes and M&A strategy by collaborating with teammates, attending training sessions, and participate in in-product guided experiences
  • Meet the team and learn the nuts and bolts of our business and our culture
  • Become familiar with best practices, processes, and operations tools including our M&A strategy, integration playbook and core systems
  • Understand influencing metrics and how to influence time to value, end user experience, adoption, and growth
  • At the rate we make acquisitions, you'll also start working on an integration we have in flight

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Complete new hire on-boarding process including eLearning courses, instructor led training, peer shadowing, and more
  • Have been fully onboarded and be leading at least one integration, as a way to learn our methods and our business
  • Reporting out to the Litera executive team on integration progress
  • Have formed ideas and recommendations for managing the full portfolio of integration projects
  • Managing cross-functional teams to deliver M&A engagements
  • Perform the role of manager and provide coaching and leadership to your team

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Make recommendations on improvements for the Integration Management Office
  • Defined the long-term design of the Integration Management Office
  • Refresh our integration playbook and plans
  • Lead integration planning and budgeting
  • Mobilize and manage engagement teams
  • Define integration milestone and deliverable structure and content
  • Facilitate buy-in on all integration topics from executive level stakeholders
  • Direct on-time, quality delivery of work
  • Manage integration risks
  • Manage multiple M&A initiatives simultaneously at various stages in the integration process

About You:

  • Participating in setting M&A objectives and scope
  • Developing work plans for complete integrations, coordinate activities between work streams and identify changes in scope
  • Loves working in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Working cross-functionally across different companies and business units
  • Partnering with senior executives to create value from our acquisitions. Specifically, helping set value creation targets, identify levers for value creation, and help define value creation plans
  • Providing insight and analytical support to produce analysis of post-deal integration to achieve/exceed deal value, synergy targets, or strategic objectives
  • Managing day to day interactions with executives and key stakeholders
  • Experience managing and coaching direct team members
  • Strong desire to keep learning new things!
  • Must have 7+ year of M&A delivery experience.
  • 10+ years consulting experience with 5 of those years being M&A specific preferred
  • Ability to travel in a limited basis
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint) and executive presence
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Apply practical experience with communications, culture, and change management
  • Experience with staff development and eagerness to mentor junior practitioner
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments
