What You Will Be Doing – Director, Technology Strategy & Governance

The Director of Technology Strategy & Governance will capitalize on his/her knowledge about the business environment, the firm’s customers, markets, products/services, and competitors, as well as his/her expertise in technology, the Director of Technology Strategy & Governance is responsible for ensuring integration of business processes, technology solutions, data, customer experience, etc. to drive competitive capability, and innovation. This individual will exploit technology as a critical aspect of the customer, client, and employee value proposition within the context of risk and benefits. 

  • Technology Leadership & Innovation: Seizes opportunities created by emerging technologies to facilitate innovation in business models, products, and services; uses information and technology to drive value into and from the customer experience; develops solutions for complex business problems that require ingenuity and creativity.
  • Enterprise Architecture: Develops and oversees the EA program; facilitates enterprise integration by providing natural mutual points of engagement and communication both within and outside the organization; optimizes the delivery of business services at the enterprise level to realize the corporate strategy.
  • Investment Management: Manages the risk‐efficient investment of enterprise capital and other factors within the context of the organization's innovation goals; exploits ideas for change and manages them as a portfolio of investments.
  • Solutions Facilitation: Manages service providers and ensures their products are secure, integrated, and cost effective; establishes a converged cloud approach and manages the lifecycle of the services requested by the business; responsible for services governance and its sourcing from the right provider.
  • Technology Stewardship: Manages and maintains the information technology of the organization, ensuring the technological stability of the organization, and building IT functional capabilities; responsible for all aspects of developing and implementing technology initiatives within the organization.
  • Data Stewardship: Helps to drive the growth of the organization through better management and delivery of data throughout the enterprise.

Who You Are – Director, Technology Strategy & Governance 

  • 10+ years of experience leading strategic business transformation initiatives and/or major technology programs
  • 5+ years of strategic planning
  • BS, BA (or equivalent) - MBA/advanced degree is a plus
  • Proven experience with technologies such as ERP, collaboration tools, data collection, consolidation and analytic/business intelligence tools, social networking platforms, etc.
  • Proven experience in researching, evaluating, negotiating, and managing third-party service providers
  • 5+ years of management experience leading an IT department or other business unit, including demonstrated competency in:
    • Leadership and stakeholder relationship management (external and internal)
    • Complex analysis of business structure and processes, and the design of effective and efficient solutions to address complex business issues
  • Proven ability to architect and present technology alternatives based on a business concept
  • Communicates effectively up and down the management chain in the appropriate language, and provides the appropriate level of detail and focus on the right information
  • Thinks strategically
  • Exercises independent judgment and acts on it
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and confident
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks effectively while under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal and consultative skills
