Crafty is seeking an experienced Event Coordinator to join our team! The Event Coordinator will sit at the helm of a tight ship: guiding client event needs, staffing schedules, and catering orders. This Event Coordinator will constantly liaise with our clients to become their go-to contact at Crafty for all things Crafty Events. This role will report to our Senior Event Manager, and is a full time role.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Receive event requests and dialogue with clients about proposals.
- Develop bar & catering menus for client events.
- Build out all the logistical details for onsite team and clients.
- Work closely with Procurement to source ingredients and supplies.
- Attend key events and oversee onsite execution .
- Support with event data collection and analysis.
- Vendor management .
The client always comes first: the Event Coordinator prepares diligently and thinks on the fly to make sure the quality of service is always immaculate.
We are looking for a detail fanatic who enjoys getting their hands dirty. Crafty events is an evolving department and we want someone to help refine the system along the way - the ‘if it doesn’t work, let’s fix it’ mentality is highly encouraged!
A Day in the Life:
- Communicate with clients on all inbound event requests
- Build event proposals
- Coordinate any vendor needs
- Communicate logistical needs with internal teams (procurement, delivery, etc)
- Coordinate event staffing needs with 10-99 employees

Your experience:
- You have experience across the full spectrum of event management - from strategy to execution. Whether your experience comes from the corporate sector or from the entertainment industry, we want to hear from you.
- You’ve put on a variety of events for some big clients. At this point, nothing really surprises you, and you’ve seen it all.
- You have a superior understanding of Chicago’s culture, dining, and entertainment venues. From decor vendors to DJs, you have contacts up your sleeve.
- You have a flexible schedule. You’ve woken up at the crack of dawn to set up, and burned the midnight oil to keep the party bumpin’.
You are:
- Extraordinarily organized. Detail-orientation is an absolute must. You have tried-and-true methods in your arsenal for staying organized and on top of it all.
- Extremely hard working. We are a startup with the mentality that no job is too big or too small for us. You hustle because that’s just how you work.
- Adaptable. You know that in the events world, you could have all your careful plans derailed on the day of the event. You know how to stay motivated and adapt as an event goes on.
