Freight Operations Associate
About the Role
Calling all 2021 Graduates! This is a full time position starting in Q1 of 2022. Looking for candidates who have graduated in the past 6-12 months.
The Uber Freight Rotational Development Program is an exciting opportunity to grow critical operations and leadership skills, positioning you for a successful career at a fast moving tech company like Uber Freight. You'll acquire skills through on-the-job learning in key operations roles at Uber Freight on a rotating basis. This role is designed to develop comprehensive knowledge of the business, and expand skills such as stakeholder engagement, logistics knowledge, business acumen, project management, and more. The 2 year rotation includes training and professional development resources throughout. This rotational role will also expose you to key aspects of working for a tech company like product training, how to work with product teams, and the environment of fast paced innovation. The role is a 2 year commitment, comprised of four 5.5 month rotations through key non-technical teams. Role examples include:

What You'll Do
While each role has different responsibilities, there are consistent high level themes throughout all jobs. Take a look below for some highlights of each role's responsibilities.
Carrier Sales
- Use service and relationship building skills to manage existing carrier partners
- Bring new transportation partners onto the platform to increase active Uber Freight app users
- Work with carrier partners to continually seek new solutions for their logistics challenges
- Actively manage the quality of our transportation partner base
Account Management
- Work with shippers to continually seek new solutions for their logistics challenges
- Develop process and system improvements to continually raise the bar of execution for customers
- Participate in the development, implementation and automation of critical business processes and tools used to track sales process, forecasting, pipeline management and performance
- Serve as a partner to our sales team, anticipating challenges and presenting solutions to support Uber Freight's business objectives
CSX
- Identify Customer trends at a lane and load level
- Address customer escalations and perform necessary follow up to ensure customer satisfaction
- Action all inquiries (Financial, Product, Account Support) from internal and external stakeholders
- Perform day-to-day shipping activities for customers along with other duties as assigned
Tracking
- Use our "Load Board" to monitor live Uber Freight loads from creation to delivery
- Stay organized and ahead of schedule ensuring that loads are moving without issue during the many stages of transit
- Use multiple platforms (phone, chat, text, email) to contact carriers and all parties involved in each load
- Triage issues and loop in key colleagues as needed

- Work collaboratively across all teams who interact within the lifecycle of a load to ensure strong execution
- Always think about how to do things better, faster, more efficiently and at a fair cost
- Ensure that all freight is moved on time and a fair cost
- Be dedicated to seeking out and solving freight related operational issues
- Be able to speak to core operational and growth metrics with the management team
- Develop process and system improvements to continually raise the bar of execution
- Manage any issues that come up in the normal operation of freight
Basic Qualifications:
- You must have graduated within the past year or before Feb 2022.
- Time-management skills - you'll be balancing multiple issues at once to efficiently resolve a large number of inquiries
- Ability to investigate and troubleshoot problems efficiently
- The ability to flourish and collaborate in a work environment where we learn from one another and continuously improve processes on behalf of users
- Agility - you can move quickly with attention to detail and accept change while absorbing new information with ease. This is especially important in a rotational role such as this.
- To be an Uber evangelist - you are a proponent of the product and services Uber Freight provides, and you're able to get others motivated to partner with us
