What You'll Bring
5-7 years of professional experience with 3+ years of risk management, compliance, operational risk assessment, control analysis, compliance or operational testing and/or audit experience required.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - able to communicate complex ideas in an understandable way and get people behind ideas.
Able to operate independently and objectively - empowering others, building trust with peers and direct reports.
Able to think and act strategically – able to sense risk implications facing the group arising from internal and external factors.
Able to identify and appropriately prioritize risks and issues.
Ability to self-manage in a complex and unstructured environment.
Enterprise Risk and/or Operational Risk Management expertise.
Knowledge of appropriate risk and control management theory and techniques.
Knowledge of applicable regulations.
First class leadership skills – demonstrates gravitas, personal credibility and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, particularly senior colleagues.
Good negotiator to resolve conflicts and ensure clear progress is made.
Impact You'll Make
With moderate supervision, this position is responsible for preparing and providing consolidated financial presentation for executive management team on a monthly and quarterly basis. This position requires strong organizational, communications, and management skills in a fast-paced with deadline driven environment. This position interacts with a wide range of management levels and cross-functional teams within TransUnion.
Ensure the Risk Function meets the expectations of a “2nd line of defense” (as per 3 lines of defense model).
Lead the implementation and operation of the TransUnion Risk Management Framework in the US. Manage the mechanisms to measure and take accountability for the effectiveness of the operation of risk governance controls.
Develop and lead a network of risk champions within the lines of business/functions to execute risk program requirements.
Facilitate the production of high-quality risk reporting to management and provide an objective view on the quality of TransUnion risk management in the US.
Collaborate with other Risk Management functions across the TransUnion enterprise.
Develop, manage and execute Risk Management governance activities, including conducting meetings, assembling and analyzing KRI/KPI data, and recording agreed actions and decisions.
Provide risk management advice and oversight in order to support, enable and independently challenge risk decisions.
Analyze and report risk profile, control performance, and benchmark processes against regulatory requirements, corporate standards and industry best practices.
Implement and ensure the effective operation of appropriate risk governance.
Provide a summary of risk performance and outlook for Executive Management by preparing top-down risk reporting on current risks, significant issues and mitigating actions.
Provide the Executive with an opinion on how risks are being managed and highlight areas of concern.
Lead risk projects, method changes or risk systems developments as appropriate.
Develop a continuous improvement culture where lessons learned are shared.
Facilitate the articulation of business risk appetite statements and report on adherence.
Represent and promote the importance of robust and appropriate governance and internal controls.
