What you’ll do in this role:
The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for supporting and extending Strata’s server environment. The ideal candidate will have a background in Microsoft Active Directory, Active Directory Federated Services, Office 365, Certificate Authority, VDI, and Microsoft server operating systems. This engineer is considered the subject matter expert on many of these technologies.
- Administration of AD including GPO and GPP adjusting configuration to align with best practice.
- Support for PKI environment including upgrade and migration to server 2016.
- Research and pilot VDI technologies for internal use.
- Provide oversight on Strata’s hybrid O365 implementation including upgrades where needed.
- Perform day-to-day operational tasks on servers. Diagnose and resolve performance and reliability issues across hardware, operating systems, application, and network.
- Deploy and configure Windows and Linux based servers
- Participate in the planning, acquisition, and installation of hardware, hypervisors, and Windows operating systems. Perform installations of application software and Microsoft Services.
- Troubleshoot and upgrade software and install required patches for ongoing maintenance of Windows operating systems. Perform ongoing security checks to maintain the security and integrity of Windows operating systems.
- Provides third level support for technical support issues. Creates knowledge base articles and cross trains service desk on usage. Provide root cause analysis of problems and implement creative solutions to prevent reoccurrences.
- Project management of small to medium technical project implementations. Including communication, stakeholder management and technical implementation. Develop timelines and budget estimates and provide status reports on the project progress.
- Independently research and recommend new hardware and software solutions.
Your accomplishments include:
- Minimum 6+ years of applied IT experience
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Strong analytical skills – the ability to assist in resolving various systems issues for multiple integrated locations and systems.
- Specifically, this position will require daily utilization and problem-solving skills with respect to the following technologies (candidate does not need to be skilled in all of the following areas but needs to be knowledgeable on most):
- Windows Server 2008R2/2012r2/2016
- Microsoft Active Directory and ADFS
- Microsoft PKI
- PowerShell
- Time management and organizational skills are imperative.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with all levels of management and personnel.
- Ability to learn quickly and apply learned principles
