The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

As an IT Analyst III, you will be required to work in a data analytics group supporting centralized data platform by working with developers, customers, and digital architect to bring data to the platform through ETL or SQL development. This role will also focus on developing and maintain the governance frame to ensure the platform is secure, data accurate, high quality and efficient.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may Include, but are not limited to:

  • Competent to perform all necessary ETL (data extraction, transformation, and loading) related task which could include request data access, setup data connection, develop/improve/TEST ETL procedures, schedule / monitoring ETL scheduled jobs and respond to issues.
  • Work with application / report developers to support project planning, training, guidance on standards, and the efficient creation/maintenance of high-quality data
  • Maintain, execute, and monitor data platform governance procedure. Respond to issues in the area of security access control, data quality control, database structure standard and resource usages.
  • Contributes to standard procedures, standard works, continues improvement of data quality, data security and efficiency, as well as technical requirements
  • Develop reports, queries, and other data centric applications to support business customers or database governance requirements.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Information systems, or related area.
  • 3 years or more of experience in data management and analytics (data design, data quality, reporting, analytic, ETL, governance, etc.)
  • Skilled in SQL and stored procedures
  • Skilled in Java-script, python, or Powershell


Top Candidates will also have:

  • Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, data quality, data modeling, and data architecture concepts
  • Ability to investigate data grief or issues, identify root cause and implement solutions to address the issue
  • Strong database design knowledge and can apply data normalization in table design.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end data lifecycle across traditional data warehouses, relational databases, operational data stores, business intelligence reporting
  • Snowflake and other business intelligence experience
  • Experience with data cataloging tools such as Collibra
  • Strong skill in query performance turning
  • Strong network and security, Windows OS knowledge
  • Experience with application development in Azure cloud platform including WebApp service, DevOps, Azure SQL, Functions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a complex, rapidly changing, and culturally diverse environment
