Job Description

Our company is undergoing a CEO-sponsored initiative to transform into a digital-first, recurring-revenue subscription company. We have a multi-billion dollar revenue stream in the legacy business model, so there is a lot of change to make! As the IT Change Management Lead, you are a critical member of this team. This role will partner with senior leadership within IT and the business, to champion a culture of change and transform this company. The position is located in downtown Chicago. This high visibility role is an ideal opportunity for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Design change management strategies for large, cross-functional programs. Engage key stakeholders, project sponsors, senior leadership and change team members across the business and IT to get buy-in on the change management needs and strategy for the programs

  • Develop and drive a change management project plan on those projects, coordinating regularly with the IT Lead, project manager, and third-party consultants

  • Advise business project team members on how they can steer change management, communications, and training for their impacted end users successfully

  • Coach and train others in change management best practices to expand the change management capabilities inside the organization

Desired Background/Knowledge/Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Extremely proficient at executive communication. Ability to establish context and hit the right tone while communicating with senior level executives. 

  • Team communication and collaboration skills are critical for ensuring the success of the projects. Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization based on trust, transparency, and by delivering on commitments; 

  • Ability to mentor and train others in change management techniques and standards; ensure the sharing of new ideas/best practices 

  • Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and mediation skills

  • Ability to generate results through influence versus direct authority

  • Ability to drive meetings independently with strong ability to build cross-functional relationships to coordinate dependencies and existing complex processes to deliver on commitments

  • Excellent listening skills with dynamic ability to resolve complex issues in an environment of rapid change positively and professionally; ability to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflicts

  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to balance and effectively prioritize multiple projects simultaneously

  • Can deal with ambiguity and loves to create!

  • Self-directed; able to identify and set priorities with minimal guidance, and then modify these as the situation changes.

  • A strong value system with impeccable integrity, enthusiasm and passion for learning

  • Experience working with IT departments and Agile/Waterfall methodologies preferred

  • Change Management certification and/or other project management certification a plus.

  • Proven experience overseeing large-scale organizational change efforts. This role is focused on change strategy and connecting with others to create change management deliverables


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 5+ years of experience in Organizational Change Management (OCM).
