Job Purpose:
This role will provide IT Leadership with Enterprise Applications; manages staff, applications development, integration and support, and the computer technology used in various organizations throughout the worldwide Caterpillar extended enterprise. This position has specific accountability for Machine order systems, ERP security, and general Corporate Transformations.

Description:
This role will ensure standard work is monitored, supported and communicated to ensure the scope of services achieve and maintain compliance to internal policies and procedures, including those relating to sustainability, cybersecurity, SOX, and IT General Controls.

  • Reporting to this position are IT Supervisors, Senior IT Supervisors, Technology Specialists, Information Systems Specialists, and a larger team of technical and support team comprised of employees and third-party associates.
  • Directs Information Services functions for distributed computing systems (mainframe, personal computer, client server, and/or Internet) at Service Centers and Business Units. This includes managing the staff and projects related to developing business and technical solutions and implementing common operating procedures to provide process functionality.
  • Provides direction for determining systems requirements, hardware and software acquisition and problem resolution to assist the business unit(s) in defining solutions and making recommendations to management for approval.
  • Provides corporate leadership and coordinates corporate development of integrated systems solutions with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other application development groups.
  • Coordinates and provides system reliability and resources to support the day-to-day operation of the teams, as well as the long-term strategic roadmap of the capabilities used.
  • Ability to influence larger areas of information technology in support of large-scale corporate transformations, including areas far outside those owned by the incumbent.
  • Employee may also be responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as assigned.


Basic Requirements:

  • Requires a relevant degree and 10-15 years of progressively complex IS experience generally gained through staff and supervisory assignments in Information Services and related areas.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.
  • General understanding of basic business operations including distributed software systems and one or more of the following: general business processes, parts warehousing and distribution, dealer processes, and manufacturing.
  • Ability to provide strategic direction for effectively managing staff, budgets, business plans, one-year project plans and developing 2-5-year roadmaps with customers and IT.
  • Requires ability to work with diversified departments along with effective oral and written communications skills.
  • Must have a strong customer focus.
