SMS Assist, L.L.C., IT Team Lead - DevOps, Chicago, IL – Plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects, lead and guide the work of technical staff, and establish and maintain all network, voice configurations, and connections with Ethernet network environment and peripherals. Responsible for the configuration, implementation, and administration of the organization's server hardware, operating systems, and applications. Analyze and resolve problems associated with server hardware and server application software. Detect, diagnose, and report problems on all hardware and software systems. Perform a wide variety of tasks in software/hardware maintenance and operational support. Establish rapport with vendors and carriers. Perform liaison function between other Information Technology teams. Perform trouble-shooting for network and voice hardware and software problems. Monitor Cisco Unified Communications Solutions; Voice Over IP, Call Manger, Voicemail, and Call Center. Verify and monitor cloud and on premises environments and respond to issues as they arise, adding new monitoring as needed. Work with development and product teams to ensure processes progress all the way through maturity. Recommend alternate choices and trade-offs for various design decisions. Document and work with other members of the operations team to cross-train on AWS deployments as they occur. Be part of an on-call rotation for afterhours emergency response. Investigate performance and process failures and work to improve them. Stay apprised of new developments in both AWS and operations, help in determining how and when those would affect and/or improve our architecture. Utilize HP, IBM or Dell servers; VMWare or Hyper-V; Windows Server 2008 R2, Exchange Server; network monitoring tools; IBM PC/AT compatible type of hardware and peripherals and Active Directory, Group Policy, SMTP protocol, DHCP, TCP/IP, WINS, and DNS; AWS including a solid understanding of CI and CD, Amazon S3, RDS, EC2, SQS, IAM, SES, Cloudwatch, Elasticache, Cloudformation, CodeDeploy; Salt, Puppet, Chef, Cobbler or Ansible; Deployment automation scripting experience with Bash/Python; Data stores and Databases: MySQL, MongoDB, MSSQL, PostgresSQL; Big Data Architecture knowledge, Hadoop, Hive.

Applicant must possess a Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Networking, Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project Management or in a related field and 3 years of experience as a Network Engineer or related position.
