Job description:

The Management Associate will work closely with senior management to accelerate growth through strategic planning and operational initiatives. The role is akin to a “Chief of Staff,” and is intended for an Associate Consultant or Consultant with a few years of experience. He/she will work directly with the COO, a former management consultant, and will have significant exposure to the CEO and Board of Directors. A successful Associate will be well-positioned for a promotion within their first year, as categories and initiatives reach scale and require owners.

The role is eligible to participate in our equity program and is ideal for candidates who are interested in Venture Capital or in becoming a founder, but who want operational experience with a startup first.

Responsibilities:

• Operationalizing strategic initiatives required to enable rapid growth (e.g., product launches)
• Evaluating strategic options and developing recommendations for path forward (e.g., pricing, product mix, etc.)
• Financial analysis, including cash flow planning
• Developing dashboards and processes to track progress against growth goals
• Supporting investor presentations
• Various ad hoc projects for the CEO and functional heads

Job Requirements:

• 2-3 years of pre-MBA consulting experience OR 1-2 years of post-MBA consulting experience
• Ability to develop and manage complex Excel models
• Ability to add structure to ambiguous situations
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to get creative when approaching a challenging problem
• Assertive and proactive, with an entrepreneurial spirit
• Bias towards action vs. planning
• Interest in any of the following: e-commerce, startups, operations, outdoor sports
